There are a couple of folks on Flea Bay selling an after market hood that fits quite nicely and is a new compound that looks like the original hoods. They are not marked as Campy but will get your levers covered again for a bout $20 a pair. HTH, MH

No, those tins are for spare Regina Superleggera (hollow-pin) chains. I keep my freewheels in another box. I'm a sucker for Regina FWs, too,

My treasure for your trash!

I have some parts I'd like to get rid of. Please let me know if you're interested in any of them.

Mongoose "Pro Class" BMX wheels GONE
20" 36 hole rims laced to Shimano VIA hubs with a 16 tooth Shimano freewheel. Greasy, dusty, and there's some latex paint on the front wheel, but no rust or corrosion, and very little wear. Front hub could use a repack, rear is silky smooth.



Lambert hubs and front derailleur
High flange, 36 hole, newer bearings. Hubs and derailleur are in excellent cosmetic condition, original skewers have some scraping and rust. The rear hub has all the original hardware and also some unoriginal hardware. I inherited someone's project and now you can inherit it in turn.




Nitto bag/basket racks
A Nitto RBW51 with two sets of struts, and a Nitto M18 with one set of struts and the "diving board". Early models with no brazeon light mounts. Includes all original hardware and Nitto P-clamps. One of the struts of the RBW51 has a spot worn about 1/3 of the way through where something was rubbing. Shouldn't affect use.



Campy Nuovo Record 25.0mm seatpost
Missing some hardware. Needs a polish.




Cinelli 1R stem
105mm extension, 26.4 clamp diameter. Cracked wedge. Some wear.




TDC cottered bottom bracket
TDC bottom bracket cups with Flandria 56-2 cottered spindle, and a replacement lockring. Trust me, you would not have wanted to use the original. All bearing surfaces are smooth and excellent with no pitting.




I also have a set of MKS FD-7 folding pedals new in box, never installed on a bike, can't put any more pictures on this post but you can google them. the box is a little dinged up but the pedals are unused.

I'm looking for:
A 26.4mm seatpost of decent quality;
A Brooks B17, C17, or wider, preferably with cutout;
3x7, 3x8, or 3x9 thumb shifters;
An MTB triple crankset, doesn't have to be anything fancy, shorter than 175mm, would be nice if it came with a bottom bracket;
A Sram automatix or Sturmey Archer S2 or S2C hub;
A Shimano Nexus 3-speed bellcrank assembly;
36 258mm stainless steel spokes, preferably black;
One or two nice 26" rims, and/or two nice 650b rims;
A set of MKS Lambda or Grip King pedals if you have them laying around.

Kind of a shot in the dark, but I'd love to find a matching rear hub for this blue-anodized Altenburger hi-flange hub.

As much as it pains me to do, this old friend is now too big for me. I have spent most of this spring restoring it to something ride-able. And this is not one of those War Department edicts, as the last few have been. So this oldie but goodie is in need of a new home. 58 cm 1986 Schwinn Peloton. It comes with all the stuff you see, which is period correct for the 1986 model. Also included is a pair of bottle cages in matching powder coat, white look pedals. I have the brake pads but I suggest a replacement set of new ones. It will need wheels and tires, A Suntour 6/7 freewheel, a few spacers and star washers for the brakes, cables and a chain, seat. This one will be a great starter bike for someone new to CV. I just can't continue working of this one that I will not be able to ride. It will probably cost $75 to ship using shipbikes. As always cost of shipping and a reassurance that it will be ridden and not flipped. Again the order of replies will be the way it is dealt with. PM the sad Honk

MH, your bike world generosity is incredible. I am not i big believer in "what goes around, comes around", but I sure wish you well with your projects. I also think that for you, the satisfaction of helping someone else out is probably of sufficient value to you to make it worthwhile. Good for you, stay well.

I am getting older and smaller, and this was a great bike for me. When I first got it it needed repairs, and some braze-ons added. I got to spend torch time that was not a cutting torch, so yeah good times with an old friend, but alas I am too short to enjoy it, so it does need a new happy home. My home here in Bloomington is on a city lot without a large storage capacity and cheap real estate is over $5 per SF per month so sometimes you gotta just let go. Not to worry though, it is being replaced by this smaller vintage frame and fork,which will equipped with clinchers and Record group. The exception will likely be a set of Modolo Speedy brakes from the Box 'O Crap so it can wear the boc logo with some pride. As a plus this Raleigh can fit fenders and touring tires.

I have a set of M's in steel. They're not in great condition, but I think they will clean up nicely. I'm selling on behalf of the local co-op, which has tons of stuff, so they would want cash instead of trade. Also have a couple of pairs of 600 pedals with L clips on them if anyone is interested.

Trade for my Dawes Double Blue

I've had this 1967 Dawes Double Blue for about a dozen years (date is an estimate from the date code on the original Wrights saddle). I fully overhauled it with new bearings, etc., soon after I got it. It rides really well. But I don't ride it enough. The old "too many bikes" story.

It has a 25" frame. Barely used Wrights saddle, which I bought to replace the rock-hard original. I built the wheels on a set of NOS Normandy Sport rims on 27" Mavic MA40 rims. Otherwise pretty much all original except for front and rear derailleurs. No dents or frame damage, but lots of patina. I have more photos, but am only posting a couple of them to give a general flavor of the bike overall and the aforementioned patina. Happy to respond to any questions.

I need a set of quality 700c clincher wheels appropriate for an early-70s French bike. Also a long-cage Simplex RD and a non-plastic Simplex FD and a set of Mafac brake calipers--Competition or Racers.

Okay, I'll get out of my own way now.

jonwvara, if that frame was 1" smaller and if I needed another bike (which we all do, I suppose) I'd be tempted.

Truth be told, I don't get to ride the ride the bikes I already have.

Check your PMs. I have a spare Campy Victory rear derailleur and a Ambrosio Super Elite 19 rim you're looking for, see pic. The Ambrosio rim is laced to a shimano 600 tri-color hub with 6 speed uniglide cassette. My girlfriend's bike is currently using that wheel, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if we trade for a similar type of wheel. What do you have?


Ambrosio 19 Extra super ιlite in 32 hole.

Sorry for My slow response - My e-mail said "don't respond" so I was a bit unsure - My rim is 36 hole -also says DUREX Marchio Despositato ? - and I want to keep my Campy hub - which is on a Weinnman rim ( which I don't know that you'd want anyway) - what condition is the Victory derailleur in ?

The Victory derailleur is used, but looks great I think–I just cleaned it up a bit last week! See pic.

You keep your campy hub but I don't think I am looking for another 36 hole rim right now. Maybe we can figure out something else to exchange? send me a private message and we can figure something out. Thanks.

Hi all, I have an assortment of Shimano 600 EX (Arabesque) parts that could use a good home, or help you complete your set of Arabesque parts:
- Short cage rear derailleur
- Front derailleur
- Shifters with clamp

@herbarium, If you don't mind a straight seatpost, you can make an expander seatpost as I did. I bought a cheap steel very long stem for the sake of getting the wedge and the long expander bolt. I cut the bottom of the seatpost at the appropriate angle.

That's exactly what I need it for, a black Schwinn 564 in roughly the same condition!

I was thinking of doing that as well, but did you have to use an oversized wedge? Or the regular 22.2? Following
, and this blog, I need to get a MTB stem that is 28.6 and then file it down, which seems like a real hassle since I don't have metal working tools like that.

I've seen one of those schwinn aluminum frames retrofitted with a seattube collar, but I don't know how well that works. I guess you'd have to trim the top of the tube to get a level surface for the collar. But the original seatposts seem to cost as much as the frames these days if you can even find one.
