I'm really into it. So many unique little details. Picked up from the original owner and it was 100% original. It has needed some cleaning up here and there but ultimately the overhaul job has been easy enough thanks to the good condition it was kept in.

Just finished the restoration job on a dumpster find 1978 Schwinn Breeze. Love the build quality of these old Schwinns.

This will likely look familiar. It used to have Campagnolo Record 8 speed but that now resides on my Lemond TSX, Now it has a mix of Shimano 9 speed and other marques.

Cleaned up and did general maintenance on my primary bicycle over the weekend. Installed a new rack and bottle cage on it Monday. Been wanting to put a rack on it ever since I bought it last year, and finally got around to it.

Getting the rack onto this bike was actually a challenge due to the odd frame design. I couldn't use the caliper brake/rear reflector mounting location as it was to low for the rack's stay arms to reach, and I had to modify the rack's stay arms to reach the mounting posts integrated into the rear of the top tube of the bike frame as they were ever so slightly to high for the rack to otherwise reach. Was kind of a pain, but it turned out great in the end,

I picked up a Motobecane Mixte at a Habitat Re Store for a flip, turns out it is in a lot worse shape then I thought. Paint is trashed and it had plenty of rust & scratches which I knew, but it had broken cable guides, the rear dropouts were a mess, brake levers didn't match plus it was in need of the usual tear down clean & grease job. Good news is that I am down to cables and a seat and it will be ready to move on. As Found.

Univega Gran Rally swappin’...

I was gifted this salmon colored frame quite some time ago...been bouncin’ around through the many shop iterations...last year or so I was gifted the complete silver/blue bike...too big for me, plus the top tube is damaged just enough...I’ll be usin’ my new 600 wrenches from Poland...took almost a month+ to get’em...

Great beater, company bike when done...

...just enough damage...and too big for me...

These became available on EBay, I’m guessin’ maybe/probably saw a reference for them on BF...had to have’em...

Got some new (used) scotch-brite, bear-tex, and flannel wheels for to make my old, noisy grinder into a new, quiet polisher!

Got the Nishiki Competition step through up on wheels today. Decided to keep the original saddle for now. All that’s left is the bar cons, derailleurs and a nice saddle bag. Part of me is wanting to try gold cable housing or a gold chain to go with the decals and freewheel but it may be too gaudy.

working on this 1988 Schwinn LeTour. It will be reborn as an all white Schwinn "World" I realize the World is one of the lowest levels but I had a World in 1988 and building it as a tribute (plus found some Schwinn World decals on Ebay) Stripping bikes is not much fun though!

Not Sure, never had anyone ask about size on a Mixte, will check it and report back. Ok Center of spindle to the top of the seat tube is 50cm, seat tube to head tube is 53.3cm C to C.

going to pick up a frame tomorrow and comparing. Seems like mixtes are always long compared to tall which actually can be quite useful.

Funny how a couple of photos like that can get a guy hankering to go build a wheel. Nice warm wood stove, good tunes on the box, hot coffee, lacing spokes, not thinking about anything else. You don't suppose I need a stress relief, do ya?

Ditto, but I like to drag out my turntable and vinyl when building a wheel.

Spent a couple hours today working on my Bilenky. I added a Velo Orange randonneur bar, and adjusted the handlebar height, reach, etc. and I just had to take it for a shakedown ride! I've got new Tubus rack and fenders to add soon, and I'm thinking about going for broke (literally) and replacing the Paul cantis with a set of Paul Motolites.

Tubus racks rock. Which ones do you have?
