I volunteer there when I can and fixed up a few of my bikes there. The people are great and they even have women's night two weekdays a month.

We're located in the basement of Justice Records.

My cell-phone number is at the shop, so if you need anything give me a call!

If there are any lansing Co-op people or any other Bike co-op people in MI, shoot me a PM! i would love to discuss events/fundraisers.
UPDATE:

This bike co-op is now shut down.

Currently in Mount Pleasant, MI (Central Michigan University) there are still many of the people who were helping with the co-op in town. We now have the Mount Pleasant Bike Collective.

Feel free to join the group if you are in the area. There you will find rides posted, fun bike internet finds, movie nights, and can also be used as a way to ask questions / find spare parts / bicycle help. So in short, the permanent physical location is gone, but the friendly bike people are still around. We just now have to gather at each others houses / apts.

I go to BluSci which is in the Old Trafford area of Manchester.

They fix bikes for free if there are no parts needed and just charge for any parts that are needed and dont charge labour.

If a member of BluSci the repair charges but if not then they do appreciate a small donation towards their operating costs as the service is entirely voluntary.

The Bikerowave and Bicycle Kitchen are located across the street from LA Brakeless and Orange 20, respectively. The Bicycle Kitchen is a great place if you have very little money because they do not require you to pay for anything, but that's no reason to get greedy. Bikerowave has an agreement with Santa Monica College for stand time. If you are currently a student mention it when you log your time because SMC pays for your stand time. I don't really know anything about the Valley Bikery or Bike Oven.
do you know of any in OC?

Washington DC area:

Phoenix Bikes is located near both the W&OD trail and Four Mile Run Trail.
It's located inside Barcroft Park. The park's street address is 4200 S.
Four Mile Run Drive. Park in the main lot of Barcroft Park, walk to the
street, turn right on the Four Mile Run sidewalk, and walk several hundred
feet. The shop is located on your right, behind yet another park building
and next to the tennis courts. If you pass the tennis courts and see Woofs
Doggy Daycare Center, you've walked too far.

Normal hours of Operation

Northampton, MA (Pioneer Valley) has Pedal People, a bicycle collective that has a bike workshop on Saturdays for anyone who wants to learn, use tools, volunteer time, etc. https://www.pedalpeople.coop/

Ruthie is super nice and very helpful, I learned a lot by going on Saturdays and asking her help. You can also donate/take parts as needed, but there is no formal system.

San Luis Obispo Bike Kitchen
https://slobikelane.org/programs/kitchen/
I worked here a lot before I moved out of the area and it's a great program. Good people, plenty of tools, and nice natural Lighting (really nice). Last Bike coop/kitchen until Santa Barbara. We got lot's of local college kids and the occasional guy touring California by bike. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the San Luis Obispo area.

Like what? Do you have a lot of volunteers at your co-op or are you always fishing for another soul to lend a hand?

At ours, we have a pretty full Friday night and Saturday. We end up building a few bikes, but we also help folks who wander in wanting to fix up their bike.

Normally summer is pretty crazy but later winter into spring can also be a zoo. Everybody is getting ready for a ride.

Mobile, Alabama. Delta Bike Project: https://www.deltabikeproject.org/

These guys are pretty new. They offer paid memberships (for people with financial resources, to access better tools and learn about their bikes), and they're helping people without financial resources get bikes in exchange for helping out around the shop.
