Route 66
Hello
I was planning on biking from Chicago to L.A. along bicycle route 66. After looking at some other peoples blogs, it seems as though the road conditions are not the best in a few areas. Would 25mm gatorskin tyres be sufficient enough for this trip? I don't think my bike has the clearance for anything bigger than that.

adventurecycling.org has a separate section on Route 66. You'll have to sign up for access (free) but you will probably get more responses to your questions.

I have ridden most of Route 66 in Oklahoma, and at least for this state, 700x25 tires will work. Just make sure they're inflated to the pressure specified on the sidewall. There are potholes, but the pavement is pretty good. I don't know about other states.
