Please ... WHY? IMO, a frame such a this deserves / should have tubs. It's your machine: whatever turns your cranks. I am just interested about what it is about tubs that puts you off. (To me nothing rides like tubs and reveals the "feel" of a frame as do tubs — even cheap ones!)
This is a supremely beautiful bike. I am not taking about paint, decals blah blah. Just that one one photo of the forks shows so much about supreme craft. I wish the bike were mine. I don't ever expect to be so lucky.
The whole geometry of the frame is pure beauty — angles and dimensions.
And ... I would have it on tubs!

Thanks for the kind words and I do feel supremely lucky to own this one. You mention angles and demensions and they are laid out to an exquisite degree here. The thinness of tubing, the slightness of the lugs, time proven Pellizolli craftsmanship, and the perfect match of paint and shiny bits are what make this bike so appealing to me.
I'll clarify my statement by saying that I love how tubbies roll, but this is no wall-hanger. I bought it because it was built to ride and where I ride the roads are **** and I don't want to have to carry a spare tire with me. Simple as that. I would like to pick up a similar set of hoops in clincher form so that when and not if I puncture I can get back rolling with the group quickly.
My first real bike rolled on Mavic GP4 tubs and I haven't ridden on them since then....ooh they are nice rolling. May be the plushness of steel combined with that, but it is just like butter on the road and while I don't want to lose that, I find the inconvenience and unsightliness of a complete tire folded under my seat unsettling, esp. on this one.
Ride 'em if you got 'em, but convenience will win over ride quality here.

As for me, I ride alone, and strapping a spare tub under the saddle is just the price I pay to ride them. If I flat out, I do not have to worry about rolling off a tub on some awful descent. I ride on a river usually, and if I am on hills I can just take my time and gingerly get home. Recently I bought some red leather strap and some buckles to make a couple of pairs of straps — same colour as one of my bikes
My SS Simplon is on clinchers, and so will my Woodrup when I finish it.

I ride mostly tubulars as well. At the moment, I have one vintage bike (Schwinn Volare) which has clinchers. I may swap out for tubulars.
I carry a spare, and assuming my rims have decent glue on them, changing a tubular can be faster than fixing a clincher flat. I'm on the downhill side of life as well. Might as well ride in comfort.
@TickDoc, I repeat my offer. If you decide to dump the tubular wheels, let me know. I might be interested. It's not like the five or so wheelsets I have hanging in the garage are enough...

Always admired this brand, and when this one showed up I was shocked to see not many bids, and relieved to see I was the winner.
It represents many firsts for me: first steel, first campy, first Italian, first pink bike.
I was planning on buying a frame to build my own and have looked for quite some time, but they were always too rough, in a strange local, the wrong size, of questionable provenance, etc.
Finally the stars aligned and this one showed up already built to a decent specification and in my size.
It is an odd mix of campy: record crank and hubs, centaur hoods, mirage and chorus deraileurs, veloce brakes. I doubt I would have assembled it so, but man does it all work. Seller said the frame was a custom job that hung for years until he had it built. I don't know why it was pieced like this but it seems to be done in an oddly deliberate way. I absolutely love the color combo.
The frame is such an odd color that it is hard to describe. It changes depending on the light, varying from a weird sunset red to an almost flamingo pink.
Had I bought the Ciocc I would not have been able to obtain this beauty, one of my grail bikes.

It's been a while, but I've got me a new project here: 1974 Gitane Interclub; a bit on the heavy side (being a gaspipe frame), but I could not resist the colour
. Pretty good condition overall except for the FD, saddle (ouch!), chain, shifters and some other stuff. This is the seller's photo, of course - I will post 'after' pics as soon as.

1984/85 Raleigh Racing Competition
First post so figured I'd serve up my first vintage build. A resto-mod makeover on a 1984/5 Raleigh Racing Competition. Oft-overlooked Japanese built Raleigh that I think was a real sleeper in its day. Dressed her up with full Dura-Ace 7800 and a sweet pair of State wheels and she does a decent job of hanging with the carbon fiber crowd at just under 22 lbs.

Just dived into the geared and vintage realm. Purchased this 1988 Raliegh Technium Tri-Lite for $40, took my bike mechanic a case of beer and he tuned it up (list of fixes in the pedalroom). It was made the year I was born and made in the area where I grew up so that's pretty cool. So far I like it a bunch, but there is an annoying tick/click noise coming from the rear when I ride

That's definately NOT a 1962. With the downtube shifters, crank and decals on the seat tube it looks like you have a mid-1980s model (poosibly 1982?). Yes they are heavy, but they're great around-town bicycles.

This one is special to me because it's a bit of a rescue. The frame came to me with it's original fork, and the frame had been either single speeded or fixied. The original Nitto handlebars had been flop-n-chopped and it had a frozen stem and seatpost, the latter being 8" deep!
I hung onto the frame for 6 years, trying routine oil soakings to get everything apart. No dice. So finally 2 weeks ago I cut the seatpost out and figured out how to wrench the stem out. She might not be as classy as some others posted here, but she's got plenty of 'beausage' to go around! I finally built it up with an Ultegra gruppo, and she rides like a dream. Still have to find or make a top tube decal.
