Looking for a frame builder in Melb Australia

I have several disability's from birth including Poland's Syndrome. Poland's Syndrome effects my right side of my body including my chest which is missing a pectoralis muscle and i also have a mild scoliosis. My right side is more lopsided and i have a arm my right arm which is a lot shorter than my left and my right hand is also deformed and is in a club shape with very little movement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland_syndrome

I was wanting to get a Road Racer bike and convert it to a tricycle. My thinking was instead of building a bike from scratch which would cost a lot of money which i don't have. I could buy a Racer bike and another wheel and get the bike shop to make the axle for the second wheel to be connected. I would be looking at flat handle bars instead of the traditional Racer bars. I live in Australia in Melbourne and i don't know of any Bicycle shop that does this. Any thoughts on this and is this the cheapest option?

I had posted this in the Disability forum but i hadn't had any response so i thought i would try this forum.

If you're looking for a light weight, sport, bike/trike I would suggest finding an English trike. There was a period where the English made trikes and raced them. On the classic-rendezvous-lightweight-vinta...oglegroups.com we talk about them every so often.

If you're just looking for a bike/trike to ride and don't have sporting goals consider these bolt on stabilizers. https://www.amazon.com/Bike-USA-Stab...abilizer&psc=1

Good luck, Andy.

You could get in touch with Gordon Hill or Ken Evans. Both are based in Melbourne, easily found on the web and while their usual thing is light weight steel, you never know if they might be able to help.

Here's a couple...

Gellie Custom - Handmade Steel Bicycle Frames

https://baumcycles.com

UK based kit maker https://www.trykit.com

There are conversion kits for road bike to tricycle. I'll ask a friend who is a Paralympic cyclist on a trike if she knows where to get them. She's Melbourne based.
