Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SRAM AXS Red Battery Charge Duration

How long do your derailleur batteries last on a full charge? I probably need to get the app and then I'd have a way to see the charge remaining. Have any of you using AXS found a reliable average charge life? Thanks!

I'm getting 800+ on the original eTap on the RD.

800+ what? I don't get near that in miles or hours, or whatever.

Miles....

I just charged my batteries for the 2nd time since March and I have almost 2000 miles since then.

I just replaced my broken Garmin 510 with a 530. The 530 does have a display for batter level but it only shows the RD battery. I noticed that it dropped 1 out of 4 bars so I checked the RD and the green LED was now red. So I swapped FD to RD and did went on my ride. When i got home I decided to charge both.

Obviously the RD battery will drain quicker than the FD. The 530 will tell you how many times you shift each and since I like on Long Island, relatively flat I can have 2000 shifts on the RD during a 50 mile ride and 0 FD shifts. But even if you don't shift, there is a drain when in motion. They tell you when transporting the bike you should remove the batteries to save the charge.

It's going to depend enormously on how much you shift. I probably get 500 miles before having to charge. It's long enough that you forget about needing to do it.

That's closer to what I get. I get more like 400.
