Question for Bianchi Oltre XR4 owners

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Question for Bianchi Oltre XR4 owners

I just ordered a Celeste gloss Oltre XR4 and plan to build it with Dura Ace 9150, Zipp 404 NSW's or Bora Ultra 50's. Someone on another forum pointed out the Oltre XR4 pairs best with two front-specific direct mount brakes. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

Are you saying pairs best or requires? if you are asking if it requires direct mount, then yes it does require direct mount brakes. There isnt a best one to choose from I have two buddies with them and they are running sram E-tap with then Dura ace 9000 direct mount brakes with no problems

I think that the OP meant for the emphasis to be on the front-specific part (for both the front and back, I assume), not the direct-mount (vs not) or brand aspect.

They are saying that they find it best to use two front brakes instead of being one front and one rear. Basically what they are saying is buy one front direct mount brake for the front and then buy another front direct mount brake to use in the rear. As for confirming that this is the way to go, I have not heard anyone doing it or reasoning behind it but maybe the pull is larger (better) stronger making the brake itself a better system.

You're missing out going with the best electronic drivetrain and the best wheels. BTW, my TCR has Dura Ace 9150 and the Bora Ultras too. Match made in heaven.
