Have probably owned about a dozen or more SGs, and I'm down to about 6 or so right now - 3 or 4 Gibbies, a couple Epis, and a scratch built.

What I enjoy about them is that they can be used for anything - blues, jazz, classic rock, metal, punk, etc. They do it all! They don't have as wide of a tonal palette as say a LP, but they cut through a mix well, they are comfortable, and they are the best 'player friendly' guitar in the entire world (even though they are the worst guitar in the world for neck-joint construction
).

In tune (no pun intended) with modern trends I'm surprised that left-hand people haven't formed some sort of militant group, adopted a stirring flag, and demanded recognition of their specialness and concessions to promote their lifestyle.

I sold off some bike stuff and bought an Ampeg Portaflex 20 watt tube bass amp about a year ago. Also got a new speaker for my silverface Bassman 50 head.

Another lefty SG owner here. I bought mine used in 1980 at "Don Wehr's Music City" in SF for $345.00 and it was my first "real" guitar. It's a '76. I've been seduced by a vintage Telecaster, so that's mostly what I play now.

Well for the git fiddle fans I likely committed a sin yesterday by selling off my 1966 Hagstrom bass and the Vox amp I bought new while in high skool. Bu it was not being used and taking up some space I wanted in the shop. Valuations were crazy high for the pair but the shop that bought them didn't think they could sell for NY prices. Smiles, MH

I learned the phrase "storing it on Craigslist" a while back and it helps me to keep that perspective. I can sell it now and if I want one again later, I'll probably find someone selling it (whatever it may be).
