Had a productive if tiring weekend. Went for a 10km hike yesterday followed by a belated 50th birthday party. This morning prepared and put in the dehydrator some roast pumpkin and several trays of kiwifruit. This afternoon was spent atop a ladder pruning my plum tree. A couple of hours with a pruning saw and hauling on branches is a good upper body workout. now just vegetating before bed.

Just found a good bike fitter. Hes about 90 mins away and charges 125. But he is suppose to be really good, so hopefully sometime in the future I will see this fitter.

I really hate technology sometimes. Haven’t had phone service since Friday afternoon. Error message tells me a software update failed. Followed the instructions to update my software through my iMac. Said update was successful, yet I still cannot make or receive calls.

Oh, about 80 miles into yesterday’s ride I started to get the dreaded cramps. I pulled over and took a break. I feasted on wild raspberries that grow like weeds in these parts. They were really good, and after a few minutes I was able to finish my ride without cramps.
I don’t know if it was the rest or the berries, but I am thinking the berries helped the most. Sadly they will be all finished for the season in a few days.

When mine started to go, the instructions to update through desktop only bought a bit of time.

I miss wearing leather gloves with crochet backs on rides like that. Come home, peel em off and dry in front of the fan til they're nice and crispy.

I had finished my water, and when we stopped I bought one of those body armour electrolytes waters. It was actually pretty amazing how much better I felt after drinking that. I never ate anything though, and maybe that was the problem? I had brought pb on bread, but just wasn’t hungry.
This particular route I would only do saturday or sunday morning. Colonial Parkway we prolly got passed 25 times but other than the one a hole it wasn’t bad. Coming back on 60, some areas there is not a shoulder. Traffic wasn’t bad yet, but any later in the day I would have came back on 143. I
My back I think is what broke me down mentally. It wasn’t pain, just out of no where It wasn’t comfortable anymore. I’m thinking In the future maybe every 90 mins stopping and stretching, that might help.
Recovery ride this morning.

Core exercises help too. https://www.healthline.com/health/be...cises#beginner
I also like to do some of these:
Pull ups
Hanging knee lift
Dumbbell shoulder shrug
Dumbbell shoulder press
Lateral raise

Went to the bank, yesterday, to withdraw 27,000 pesos to pay the health insurance bill. Couldn't do it without my passport. This morning I returned with passport. Couldn't do it without a copy, and he knew full well no copy places open today. Whew! That was close. But he didn't know I had a copy at home. Return with copy, and spend the next hour and a half trying to devise an excuse as to why it can't be done. The ultimate answer? A digital copy is not acceptable. And on top of that, the passport itself is not acceptable.
At thispoint I ask if there is a limit above which it becomes more difficult to do, because all their literature says unlimited withdrawals. Yes 5000.is the ultimate limit. But we're not going to tell you that. We're gonna dance around it, sweating bullets for an hour an a half, implicating workmates, with their fingerprints, so that I can't be held accountable by myself, in case I can't worm out.
After it's all said and done, I figured out it's likely the fact that I'm a foreigner in a tiny town. A town where they never see US passports. I remember back a couple years when I opened the account, it took the entire day, because the home office just didn't want to do it. But wouldn't come out and say it. The guy I'd been working with all day finally shamed them into doing it. That should have been a tip off.

The $64,000 question is this,: Will I remember it next time?
Solution? 5000/day from the teller and 7500/day from the atm.

which part was dumb?
I learned today that even in a recovery ride I do not want to be in the back of the pack. Mr. and Mrs Roubiax didn’t want to be behind me, so an unofficial race followed. Not sure if I won, the group stopped and I kept going.

Talking box says we’re suppose to get hit by that storm monday and tuesday, followed by rain until the end of the week. Naturally, I am off during this times. SMH.
Guy I rode with today showed my a bunch of abandoned roads that made it easy to get to the colonial parkway. Had a pretty descent ride. He helped me keep the pace slower, at mile 50 I was really considering breaking 100. By mile 60 I wasn’t feeling it any more. Funny how that works.
Only got passed by one a hole. He thought he was pretty smart to lay on his horn while passing us for no apparent reason.

Ours is 2017, Mexican version. So no rear view camera option, no sunroof option. Prolly other stuff. Rear drum brakes, front disc. Bridgestone tires.
We had a wiper motor replaced on warranty, so far. 20,000 km to go with the warranty. No complaints.
And to top it off, two 60 cm roadbikes fit inside with both wheels on. Back seats folded down.
