Looking for Mariner D8 replacement fork

I am looking to replace my bent Dahon Mariner D8 fork.
Sent the bike to my daughter to use in college and UPS stacked the box and bent the fork pretty bad.
Been trying to contact Dahon with emails and voice mails but to no avail.
My Dahon dealer has been trying to contact Dahon to but no response too.
PLEASE HELP.

I've had similar experiences with them. They've produced some great bikes, imo, and I may buy another used one someday, but I don't think I would waste my time trying to contact them ever again.

I m sorry to hear that but it would be helpful to know the locations to be able to advise where you could source/swap the parts.

I am in New York City and the bike is in Chicago. Dahon responded to my email and said they are working on getting a replacement fork. Thank goodness!

I have an old, brand new Dahon Speed Uno fork I can give you. I believe it can use a front brake as well (you would just need to swap the parts over as others have done in the past). It is, I believe, a color called "shadow". I'm willing to part with it for a cup of coffee & a bagel (I'm always hungry), as I see it's for a good cause. I live out on LI, and I work in Queens, (J line, not too far from Jamaica Center). I'd be willing to meet up and give it to you. Just let me know if you're interested.

PS: It's the stronger cromo steel fork, so it's stronger that the ones on the aluminum bikes.

I'm beginning to think that you have a warehouse of folding bikes and parts

Is the fork missing break posts?

I have a few parts,... 🤪 The fork is as pictured. Just the bare, painted, cold steel.

Thanks for the offer but unfortunately that fork won’t work on the Mariner D8

It should but you would have to fit a caliper brake like diacomp 806 (or 202 which is better)

it’s not just the brakes but the steerer tube.
you cannot install the folding stem on this fork as
it needs an internal thread to tighten the large nut

Several EU countries, both wheels must be fitted with a braking system so fixies or coasters like Dahon UNO are fitted with a front caliper brake. For simplicity, distributors sell a common model compliant with EU countries regulation and quirks.

Brakes Front Brake Dahon Tour, forged aluminium, dual pivot caliper, long reach, adjustable angle pads Rear Brake Shimano coaster

the Tern UNO has Vbrake

I did not know that!

(I also read it as the EU required ONLY caliper brakes and I became really confused)

Typical Dahon customer support.

I have a Dahon Speed with the original 74mm OLD fork; I'd like to find a 100mm OLD fork with disc caliper mount (like from a Dahon Launch, or aftermarket), to have a disc brake for long descents without heating up the rims, as the subsequent expansion in diameter will pop spokes. (Disc hubs don't come in 74mm OLD.)
