Merci. I'll contact them. I'm not sure if they commercialized it. It was planned for 2022.

The Berthoud mini velo is not yet commercialized. It should be available in late 2023 - early 2024.

It seems that 5 or 10 years ago there were more mini velos. Cannondale and Orbea no longer make them, but commercialized one at that time.

Here's the upcoming Berthoud.

some are still available, Bianchi has one for example. But, they are sold in their most likely market... Japan, East Asia

we are both from montreal and I even saw your comments about mini-velos in other posts. I am looking myself in buying one to make it into winter bike!

Thinking of this frame - how you finding it long term? Do you recall how much any additional fees were coming into Canada? Looks like sales tax at least.

I don’t remember having to pay sales taxes but that may be just luck. Up to now, 5 months , everything is fine.

What I did with my extra Lombardo frame. I used parts I had and added a few accessories. I know, it’s esthetics are not great but I’m trying to prevent theft. Bike theft is a problem. Even the Police Chief had his bike stolen, locked in front of the Montreal Police headquarters.

How accurate did you find the sizing for the Silverock frame? They state that the larger option is good for 175-185cm tall riders - based on your experience, would you trust their recommendations?

"Bike theft is a problem."

Here too. Everywhere. Drug addiction combined with cheap battery operated cutoff grinders, really escalated things, it's "Gone in sixty seconds." I NEVER take the bike unless I can bring it inside. Most stores here are friendly to that now. Where I can't, like past the metal detector in a federal building, I walk there. I just joined the local Y, free with my health care, and got the OK to bring the bike inside, up the elevator, and lean it outside the squash court, rather than chain it outside. I see very disheveled folks (for which I have great sympathy, they're in bad shape), riding a cheap bike and wheeling an expensive bike alongside, and I know it's freshly stolen. I take a pic, give to police, but they have other priorities. I saw a video recently that one guy in London has taken to recovering stolen bikes, gets sent a pic, sends out to network on social media, it's spotted, he goes in for recovery, no arrest.

I get the coolness of a mini-velo, but anti-theft was my main reason for getting a folder. I never expected it to work so well as to replace my other bikes (after major enhancements).

Hi, Im 165 cm and chose the smaller option. I ride upright so that I added extensions for the handlebars. When I ordered the frame I accepted this. I don't believe that bike frames fit perfectly unless they are custom made. Seat posts and other components will help with adjusting to the rider. Hope this helps.

I found that minivelo, unlike folding bikes, are pretty similar to STD bikes in term of fit. As they use std sizes, you can always selected different ancillaries (crank length, seatpost (height and offset), Stem (length. angle stack), handlebar (width, reach etc.) ) so it is actually much either to custom fit. So as long as the frame is about the right range, it is easy to select the part once, seat tube lenght, effective top tube length and stack have been measured.
