vibration while braking
Hello,
I have a Kilo TT, and am having a problem with a strong vibration getting transmitted thru the handlebars during heavy braking. So far I have tightened down the brake caliper, and tightened the quick release skewer on the front wheel. There is no noticeable play in the fork, so I haven't messed with that. The rim was bought last fall, and the brake pads are brand new kool stop salmons. What could be causing the issue?

This is a symptom of a fork that is about to break. I had both fork blades crack at the fork crown, one 3/4 of the way around, the other 1/4. The vibration when stopping was wild. This built up very quickly late on a 40 mile ride. The last 4 miles I didn't use the front brake.
There are a lot of other causes of the vibration you are seeing, but take this seriously. If it is a cracked fork, the bike is trying to tell you AND it failing can be life altering. (BTDT. The cost was staggering.)

Not to discount the afore mentioned safety inspection(which is a good point), also rim brakes require periodic scotchbrite/windex scrubbing of the pad material and junk off the surface. Disc rotors sometimes as well for that matter.

Thanks for the responses all. Just took the front wheel off, and found some hairline marks on both fork blades where the blades meet the crown. Can't tell if this is supposed to be there or not. They look straight for the most part. Will probably take it to a shop to have them look at it.

Sounds like it is time for a new fork. Glad you noticed it and said something and are hopefully going to do something about it. Most people would probably just try to ride it out.
