Mercier Kilo WT for summer 2019?

I know there are previous threads on his bike, but I didn't see any recent ones. If I were to go this route now, are there other choices I should consider in that price range (sub $500)?

Thanks!

Taking delivery Monday, on a Red one.

Heavier than the Kilo WT frame, HiTen vs Reynolds 520, but...

City Grounds,
Nelson Vails Raleigh Back Alley:
$220.00 with free ship.

Red or Gray.
Several sizes to choose from.
Geo chart at link.
About 25.5 lbs.
32mm tires.
Fender eyelets.
Dual pivot side pulls.
Fixed and Freewheel cogs included.

1/2 the price of a Kilo WT.

Fyxation Eastside maybe? I think they fit up to 32mm tires but don't quote me on that. If you're looking to run tires any bigger than that, I think the WT is your best bet in that price range. Might be able to find some deals on slightly older FGFS type bikes too if you're into that kind of thing.

City Grounds currently selling for $176.00 shipped.

I enjoy mine, even if it's a bit heavy.
It's a solid bike, with lively handling and a smooth ride on the 32c tires.

Note that the website pics show a fire engine red(above).
My bike is more of a matte finished, brick red.

Cheers.

Based upon reviews the Kilo WT will not disappoint you. I think the overall quality and weight savings is worth investing a little more into the WT as compared to the Raleigh, which I'm sure is also a very nice bike.

I just got the WT about a month ago and have put on a few hundred miles. After making some personal changes the bike feels great. I think the weight savings are worth it. I also wanted the opportunity to run knobby(ish) tires in the future for offroad riding and I have more than enough clearance. All around great bike for the money.

Thanks guys! I ended up going a bit different route, and now in late summer 2019 I've got 3 bikes, none are fix. Jamis Satellite, Trek 620, Raleigh Sport.
