So apparently, the 2010 Madison has the same geometry as the 2007? If so I'm going out and getting the new one, the 2007 felt real nice.

I once had to go to Beverly on a work trip. Loaded my Walkman(this was way before iPods) with a ton of Lyres and spent three days up there. Foggy and cold is what I remember. And narrow, twisty roads that turned out to be state highways running through neigborhoods.

n8murphy - I'm from Methuen originally but I've lived all over the damn country (Wilmington NC, Ithaca NY, New Orleans, Phoenix AZ and some places that were too brief to say I "lived" there). I'm in Beverly now because I really like it here and the ocean is practically in my front yard. We're close to the city and still close enough to Maine and Vermont when it's time to get away from it all. There isn't a whole lot of fixed gear stuff going on here but the cycling community is pretty strong. BTW - I wouldn't want to live in Gloucester either.

wmgreen85 - here's a link:
https://cgi.ebay.com/RETRO-VINTAGE-TR...item439efa2a35

bbattle - The roads are definitely weird here but I don't think you spent enough time here or looked around enough. But yeah, when it's foggy and cold here it is FOGGY and COLD.

OK, here's mine. Pretty much relegated to beach cuiser use. It cost me around 350 dollars new in 1985. 80's Madisons were made in Greenville, Mississippi.

The 80's ones were made in a Schwinn factory in Greenville. Columbus Tenax tubing. I don't know if there were ones made earlier than that. Here is a link to some Madison S/N info. The numbering scheme in the link corresponds to what mine has:

Jonsan is correct... they should be called Greenville Schwinns but someone thought of paying homage to Chicago and that is how "Chicago Schwinn" stuck. The original Madisons were really the end of an era for Schwinn.

Mine? I paid quite a bit more for it and changed everything... bars, wheels and tires. The only thing original is the frame and keeping it a FG ride.

Thanks.

The "theme" was accidental.

I hated the stock Kendas and replaced same with coincidentally red sidewall tyres.
Looked nice though.
After 5 months daily riding the stock bartape was thrashed. Decided on red though my wife disagreed.
She liked it once it was on though.
Sweet ride IMHO.

dear knowledgeable madison owners.

i have dura ace 7600s that i plan on putting on a legit track bike, but i dont want them to just sit around, so my question is will these work with the existing chain ring and existing bottom bracket? im kinda dumb about these things, just trying to learn.

no, they won't work with your existing bb or chainring.

P.S.--is that a dead hooker?
