Are not guns the political hot topic these days? You should be banished to P&R for that.

This is a pretty well stocked pub! I just poured a Weyerbacher Double Simcoe. Nice! (in a bitter sort of way)

I'm sorry, but that's top shelf. I'm going to have to bill you for that.

I am also 50+, but view things from other perspectives and am constantly performing sociological analysis on ALL the forums to keep them interesting and manage conflict levels to keep them from getting out of hand or from getting too vanilla. My backgound is Social Psychology and Sociology and Philosophy of Mind, by the way and essentially, what I am is a Cultural Analyst.

OK, Fooish threads can stay in here.....I really don't have a problem with that.

Sometimes if a thread is more relevant to other forums, we are going to move them. If it's also particularly topical, we have an option to move a copy of the thread and leave the original. That may be an interesting solution, because then the posters can read both and see more than one dominant point of view on a particular topic. If we clone the thread, we will leave a link posted in to the original, as well to direct you to that thread as well.

If it goes political, that WILL be moved to P&R.

If it gets nasty and insulting, the nasty, insulting posts will be split from the thread and set into their own thread in the real dumping ground of Bikeforums.....Trollheim, where I keep my tame trolls and political prisoners that can ONLY see Trollheim because they're locked up in the dungeon until they earn their way back into society.

I believe we are now in a 'nuff said" point on this topic. I've explained things as clearly as I can.

As to Pub 51, yeah, it's a good Fooish 50+ Off Topic thread, so yeah...and when it gets too big to load properly, we'll just close it and open a new version, just like we do with Addiction.
I don't find it hard to believe that you can see things going on that we don't. I wonder if you would mind describing the general kinds of things you see in your analyses that lead to your conclusion about cliquishness.. without revealing anyone's identity of course? This isn't a challenge. I'm genuinely interested and others might be too.

I thought your warning about the tone of things was a good move, but this other stuff surprised me.

I've got a new bottle of bitters. Olde fashioned tonight, break out the Maccallum!

Anyone ever ditch high school to break the seal on a bottle or two of Annie Green Springs or Boone's Farm?

MacCallum is a grand idea. As soon as I am done my trainer session. Canuck here.. It was Molson Canadian and only once during school. My Dad taught in the same school so my behaviour was always under watch.

Boone's Farm Apple Wine! Good ol' BFAW. After drinking it you'd bend over the bushes and try to say it. "bufaaawww..."

Remember Champale? Or as Fred Sanford would say, Cham-pipple - that's what you get when you mix your Champale with Ripple.

I never touched Boone's Farm since my dad made his own -- we had probably 20-30 cases under the basement stairs, and sometimes when I was going out on a date one bottle would go missing. Had to bring the empty back though for proper 'inventory'....

Beer? I have always looked older than my age, so even in high school I was going to the beverage store for 3.2 beer. In Ohio back then, 3.2% alcohol beer was sold on Sunday and to those unfortunates that were between 18 and 21. Regular beer and liquor/wine were 21-older only. Bars would stamp your hand for which age group. At Ohio State, again since I looked older, I was the designated dorm go-fer when it came to going to the liquor store. I'd buy ten bottles for the guys on the stipulation that they paid for mine... Ahhhh, youth!

+1

Something about the squeaky wheel. IMHO this "cliquishness" thing has always been much ado about nothing.

Who drinks their coffee black?

I've done so since I first started drinking the stuff.
Now I'll say something truly heretical, and I may have to turn in my Canadian club membership card for saying it, but McDonalds serves better coffee than Timmy does.

Cream and (artificial) sweetener always. Unless not possible-->Black is better than no coffee.
No Timmy's near here but agree that McD's coffee is very tolerable in recent years.
