Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I want to buy a 2007 model (either Trek or Specialized.) When do they typically become available?

I'm in the market for a bike as well, but I don't see many 05s for THAT cheap even right now. I'm thinking that some models/sizes just don't get reduced in price no matter how old unless it's 2+ years. I still see 05s for close to 06 prices. Maybe 5% cheaper.

It's funny how manufacturer's only put triples on their WSD bikes. LOL.

I bought an Allez Triple less than a month ago, the LBS owner I've known for 20+ years called me today and asked if I wanted the 2007 Allez which is a double as he knew I more or less had settled for a triple. I'll let you know on Monday when I perform the fastest trade in history. List is $749. He says same frame geometry as '06 and it'll be his first batch for the year.

im waiting around for more 07's, i want to see what companies are going to build up with sram. I've heard cervelo might go sram, to make a purchase from them even more tempting for me atleast. So if we have any cervelo insiders, i'm all ears.

Does anyone know the release date of the 2007 bianchi's. I was goign to pick up a 928 Ultegra, but it only came in black and red... ugh, but.... the ultegra 928 07 will come in celeste, so it may be worth the wait.

A lot of this depends on the brand and bikes. For instance some of the Treks and LeMonds were spec'd down for 06 versus 05 so the MSRP prices of the 06's actually dropped from what they were in 05. Varies between brands but I know those two did that.

Lemond sucks? I don't know how a sub $2000 17lbs 55cm full carbon fibre (stock) bike with full Shimano components could be all that bad.

I've heard that the 2100 will be available in a bright silver color for '07, so maybe all color options haven't been revealed yet.

Good God man, why do they have a SPOKE PROTECTOR on a $5000+ racing bike? That's brutal.

The only problem I have with the System Six is the head tube is the size of a soda can. I wonder how that
impacts aerodynamics? I prefer the look of the Six13. Big time.

I'll ride my Six13 for a couple more seasons and wait for the System Seven.
