Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

I canít imagine it hurting anything to ride like that, but LBS would probably change if for $10 or so.

Im assuming It has been like that sense the crash, and just have not noticed. If thatís the case I have put over a hundred miles on it and itís been fine. Worst case I break a spoke tomorrow.

I wouldn't adjust it until after it's tightened tomorrow.

If it's rubbing pretty badly, like dragging the wheel to a stop, then re-center as described by genejockey - if the wife isn't around to hold the brake lever for you, find a rubber band to hold the lever while you snug the caliper.

If it's kissing the pads pretty lightly, just re-set the pistons when you have the wheel out. Put a thin blade/lever between the pads and give it a twist to push the pistons back in to the caliper a little. Firm but slow - you're pushing fluid out of the caliper and all the way back up the line to the reservoir in the hoods. When you pop the wheel back on, you'll have to pump the lever a few times to get the pistons/pads back in position, but they should re-center on their own.

If the rotors are pretty badly out of alignment with each other, figure out which is further inwards and get shims to move the rotors outwards and in to agreement with the other so that you don't have to re-adjust every time you swap the wheels.

Should be ok. Got some like that on the rear of my Gunnar from when a guy stuck his handlebar in it at an intersection.

That's because it wasn't popular until two or three months ago.

Put your thumb on it and bend it back. Its steel it can take a little deformation and be ok, thats not really where the stress is. Most times they break at the threads, from a stress riser or from the J bend .
Or you can send me the bike (new wheels included) and I will see to its proper disposal.. At a minimal charge.

Went for a nice tramp (hike) on the weekend. Interesting weather. It was really hot and fine on Saturday. Sunday started cool and overcast, progressed to cool rain with side order of wind and then cleared up and became fine and warm for the last half hour. I drank over 3 litres of water on Saturday and only 1.25 litres on Sunday.
Good trip though. Got to tick another hut off my list.

typical old musterers hut.

Came home and caught up on the America's Cup challenger series racing. American Magic had a spectacularly bad day. Luckily all the sailors are ok. Their boat, not so much. At least it is still afloat, just.
