This may be my only other lightning shot - taken across the Grand Canyon in 2015. It is unusual for lightning capture in that it is handheld and only a 1/30 sec exposure. I had the camera in hand planning on taking a pic of the rainbow, but when the flash occurred and before I even put camera to my eye I reflexively pressed the shutter. I left the white balance set to daylight which retained the true red orange purple color of the sky.

I have colour and B&W versions of this on my flickr feed, but the B&W is coming out ahead. With the City's indoor rinks closed all the ponds on my birding walks have been turned into hockey and skating rinks - probably like it was a long time ago.

White-winged Scoter. Definitely a heavy-duty sea duck, though a few spend the winter on the Great Lakes. It can swallow a 2-inch oyster whole and just mash it up in its gizzard (or maybe that's too much information!).

I've never seen one actually [use] a store bought bed before. How many tranquilizers did that take?

So what looks at first to be an exercise in synchronized aerobatics is actually a test of mettle . . . "if he can catch me then he’s worthy to father my chirren". Bird style.
(It’s that time of the year, there have to be some eggs in the nest by April.)

I already reported myself.
