Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It does. Get used to it. Its what you get for continuing to live.

Only question is do I get the RTL510 for $150 or the RTL515 for $200. DCRainmaker says the main benefits are the newer device has bluetooth and maybe a couple extra modes but really not much of a difference so I am inclined to get the 510.

Should I start a thread? With a poll???

It's the town closest to the airport. I'm in West Knoxville, almost 30 minutes away.

Speaking of which, I made a rare trip there last week to pick up my dad. If you haven't done so already check out the bear in the corridor that goes to the gates. I didn't get a photo but it now has a mask on.

Stouts and porters are different. But, some of those guys still get a little crazy.

If I moved to the Gainesville area I guarantee the Gators would begin losing consistently.

To me it feels like it's time to have something back there that can fire warning shots. Automatically.

I use the eye glasses type mirror and use zip tie to attach them to my helmet. They work great like that.

I have never fugured out how to like those things, either helmet or glasses mounted. I'm not big on bar end either, but of the two it's preferable. I love my old Rhode Gear mirror which sits on the hood. I tape it in place with electrical tape, like a true fred. I would love to find a couple more at reasonable prices. Or an old hood mounted Mirricle(sp?)

As for all of the eye stuff, I'll think about y'all's problems when I get my next eyeball injection in a week and a half.

As for mirrors, I've used eyeglass mirrors for going on 30 years. However, my left eye is the one that has lost some vision and I have a hard time seeing the mirror depending on the situation. Same for looking left at an intersection. I can no longer glance left but have to turn my head and concentration what I see coming down the road.

Lastly, I've got lens implants because of cataract surgery . Originally, I was near-sighted but with the implants, I'm far-sighted.

This time of year if I'm not in by 10:30, it's too hot. So I have to do the 'no time to think' thing. Of course I could ride
at night, but the last time I tried that, I was cruised slowly on an empty secondary road.
And I'm ascared to go out early(before 8:30), and have to deal with the rural rush hour. Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a road cyclist anymore. I got some great work done in the shop this morning.

We keep a bucket of stray plugs at the shop to pop into empty bars that pass through.
