any info you can give us about your bike? Serial number? Markings? Component?

It looks entry level based on what appears to be stamped dropouts and poor lugless brazing.

Diamondback Ascent EX according to the decals, but reeks of GT from my perspective.
Specifically, I'm getting a lot of GT All Terra / Pantera vibe.

This doesn't look like a GT to me. The signature feature on their C&V triple triangle frames was a short section of the top tube that protruded behind the seat tube. The cap of this piece was typically embossed with the GT logo. This feature was achieved by forming the rear end of the top tube into an oval with the major axis oriented horizontally, so that the smaller diameter seat tube could pierce the top tube.

There's nothing proprietary about the triple triangle/quadrilateral/Hellenic frame style. Back in the 1980s, two other big users were Shogun and Nashbar, though I don't think this is either brand or that old.
Along with malacal622, I'd like some additional information, particularly the serial number, steering column markings and seat post diameter. This may not allow us to determine the brand but it should corroborate the level and may allow us to determine the year.

Definitely sloppy welds.
Here's a quick link to the exact gallery if anyone's interested: https://www.bikeforums.net/g/album/20691456
