whats the problem with acetone it will clean the stickers right off without a problem. I used it on my frame and it didn't ruin the finish or anything like that. Its what I would reccomend

I was about to reply "WD40" then I saw that (a) several people already had, and (b) 14 years down the line, the OP has either removed the sticky residue or learned to live with it.

Most modern bicycles as in those built within the last 30 years are so were painted with two-part paints wich are solvent resistant. Older bicycles, Italian bicycles with lacquer finishes and enamels and used stuff with rattle can paint are not solvent resistant at all!
A mild solvent like GooGone and similar will usually remove residue without harm to a two-part coating and most well cured enamels and lacquers. Wax, automotive paste wax, can remove residue as well but even that may harm single-part paints if rubbed vigorously.
MEK/MPK is a stronger solvent which can sometimes damage even a two-part coating including powder coatings though usually not.

Speaking of chemicals. I lost my sense of smell/ability to smell completely. I used to be a painter and also do body work on cars. Paint stripper and paint thinner etc. are powerful concetrated chemicals that need to be respected that way. I would suggest using hot water and a rag first with some elbow grease. Of that doesn't work then try rubbing alcohol. Always try the least harmful/dangerous chemical first before the next.
