MTB disc brake pads in road calipers? XT in Ultegra R8000
I’m wondering if it’s a possibility to put XT brakes pads in a Ultegra brake caliper? I am looking for longer lasting and better braking . My brakes are flat mount and I have 180 rotors.
How much difference is there Between the stock, I assume are resin pads, that came with my all ultegra brakes and the metallic Ultegra brake pads?Thank you

Another alternative would be to use non-OEM metallic pads. Better braking (not breaking) often comes at a cost of longevity.

There's nothing to be gained by trying to use the wrong pad in your brakes. The compounds would be the same and the shape would be wrong.
Metallic pads will last significantly longer and give you more bite, but may be slightly louder and have a harder initial bite. Try L04C pads--they're the correct pads for your brakes with sintered compound and cooling fins, or K04S which is the same but without the fins.
