Hello all from Central NY
Came here, like many others, through a link about the FGAA dude.
Decided to join because I used to ride a lot. Then life happened and before I knew it I hadn't been on a bike in a long time (10+ years). Age and weight have added up in that time.
Still have one of my old bikes though. It's a late 70's Motobecane Mirage . Probably should dig it out and go through it.
As for personal info, I'm a 6' 300# guy. Married to someone who really doesn't deserve being stuck with me. About the only redeeming thing is that I have been an EMT / Firefighter for 20 years.
Did see a man in Herkimer doing a long ride, He started in Boston and is heading to Texas. Bike was loaded and he had a tag trailer. He was going to ride a couple more hours and then put down for the night. Strangest thing was that I had been looking at different bikes last night and one of the ones I kept coming back to was a Surly Long Haul Trucker. That is what this gent was riding so I got to see one up close and loaded.
