Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyway - It is a great ride and I really like it. No plans to upgrade to a newer road bike in the near future. (if only I was as happy with my cars)

Well, that didn't last long. Group riding where everyone had a newer bike and after my wife got a new cannondale synapse set the upgrade bug in me. (I really wanted to shift at the break levers, not the downtubes, brakes that worked well would be a big plus and having a bike that fit my 5'10" frame better than a 63.5cm bike were contributing factors as well)

This is what I got.... A 2007 Scott CR-1 pro that I just recently purchased off of E-Bay.

Anyway - the CR-1 is a 56cm. The picture is from the e-bay auction. I did have a bike fit done and have changed the factory 110cm 6 degree stem for a 90cm 16degree one. I also put on SPD pedals. Other than that - it has mavic equipe wheels and ultegra components. Quite the upgrade for me and I have been loving it since I got it.

My COLNAGO

This is my COLNAGO Extreme Power. The custom DT Swiss Wheelset with Kinlin rims are the lastest addition.

LOL! I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice. Yeah that's a burrito from the Korean Kalbi taco truck . Good eye.

I've posted both of my bikes before, but as of late I have a whole new sense of re-falling in love with them. They both get used regularly and despite the weather. Both also have many things different now than in these pict. including saddle being about 1+ inch higher in both, different pedals, tires, and even different wheels.

Sold my '09 Scott S40 to my friend and picked up this:

'06 Specialized Allez Elite. Went from a 54 to a 52 for a better seat-to-bar height. Just cleaned it up, adjusted the pedals, seat geometry and bars. Might end up flipping the stem over so I can level out the handle bars, we'll see. So far, I LOVE this bike

So far so good, but I only recently got them -- I've only put 100 or so miles on them. I'm thinking of removing some stickers -- they're a bit flashy.

I am not using them anymore, but I did like them when I used them for about 3 years. They have a few challenges, but when set right, they are as good, if not better, than the best out. Ironically, I stopped using them to try out the new TIME iClic, which I am not entirely happy with. So, I may end up going back to them at some point. They are the lightest thing out though making my lardy butt go just as slow as ever. I have only seen one other person using them, and even more rare is that it is a local guy. He has been using his set for 15 years or so.
