By default, you don't count in this discussion. Now where is my water bottle?

I wasn't really asking for advice, I'm joining the team with the guys i like riding for on it. They are the reason I wanted to be on the team, they will be the reason I decide to ride with them.
I'm also not talking myself up by saying I'm a cat 4. I just mean that in WNY we don't upgrade well with the way racing is run up here. So, in that sense, few people upgrade to Cat 4 each year and not many teams are based off strong Cat 5 squads :-p So when someone upgrades to a 4 all the local teams notice to fill gaps.
I just like stories.

Yeehaw. Made a verbal agreement last night over the phone to be on my first real team. Can anyone say NRC invites?
Now they better get me a contract before they realize what a mistake they've made.

Do you get a team bike too?
In Aus, we don't have a big teams scene at the club level. There are some specific team races, but for the most part (and all races I have been in) racing as a team is specifically against the rules. Always interesting reading how in the US it appears teams are normal from cat 5 up.

Drivev to rochester sometime, if you have time and also go to a few races such as battenkill or tour of catskills. you could upgrade to a 4 in 2 months. Easily. i will agree that after Toyfest yesterday that the organization in buffalo in not there. They asked us who thought they won after the race because they had no clue!
We actually got 10 of our BBC races USCF licensed this year, but didn't have the time or money to get refs out to them. Hoping to resolve that issue for next year so that WNY racers will have a 10 race USCF series to participate in at home.
Part of my problem is that I'm currently on a team that doesn't show up to club races, let alone travel to NY area races.
All will be better next year.

2011 is going to be my last racing season at full bore, and then I'm going to focus less on what I love and focus more on being a cubicle mouse...
Congrats CK...

As of now I get a frameset and have to buy my own components, but they've had a good season and have mentioned some better stuff next year.
The few races that are P/1/2, I'll be fighting for a spot in, at least until I upgrade to a 1. I'm pretty confident, but maybe foolishly.

I'm working on a plan to knock myself up a level further, we'll see how it goes. I might be going to Tuscon with a few buddies in the winter, again, we'll see.

I've already got a good name with the Ohio upgrade guy thanks to being in Belgium, so maybe my 1 upgrade will go relatively smoothly if I get some early results. Maybe I'm being hopelessly optimistic...

As of now I've got the possibility of going to AZ to train, so maybe TX isn't too far out.
