On 31st Oct 2023, Jeff Hoogland set both the new 500 m flying and Kilo records on the Aguascalientes Velodrome.

The 500m flying now is 24.564. The previous was 24.758, set by Chris Hoy in 2007 on the open air velodrome in La Paz. The record progression >>

The Kilo now is 55.433. The previous was 56.303, also set in Aguascalientes, by Francois Pervis in 2013. The record progression >>

His Kilo results at sea level all are world bests: 58.016, 2021 UEC; 58.418, 2021 UCI; 58.106, 2022 UCI; 57.813, Q, 2023 UEC; and 57.971, 2023 UCI.

As to Hoogland's performances in the Sprint event, it is likely about some centimeters for him to be overshadowed by Lavreisen. Sprint final at the Tokyo Olympics was the very Clash of the Titans.

Both rode 9.215, OR, in the qualification. In the final, Hoogland lost by Lavreisen just in the decider.
