Brooklyn cyclist assaulted by TBTA cop ?
I had never heard of this one.
A cyclist riding over the Marine Parkway Bridge in 2017 was pushed of his bike as he attempted to ride past a TBTA officer standing in the middle of the walkway (I used that word specifically). The video is a bit disturbing as it looks like the cop didn’t signal (with his arms) for the cyclist to stop and then proceeded to just knock the guy off the bike. Possibly a verbal warning, but who knows.
I’ve been riding over this bridge for 20 years so and have never seen nor heard of any kind of enforcement of the no riding rule, which is clearly indicated by signs.
Cyclist said and got $250,000 which is about a million short, IMO.
What is it with NYC cops and their hatred for cyclists ?
