Why not break this sub-forum into three?
I got back into cycling two years ago after a 30yr hiatus. It seemed as though I had forgotten more than I ever knew. If not for various Forums on the web, I would have been totally lost. My first trike was a TerraTrike (TT) Rover. Following a phone call to TerraTrike (Great customer service!) they suggested I check on their user Forum. Wow! I have yet to find a Forum dedicated and focused on all things recumbent trike related. While all trike brands (and df and 2-wheel recumbents too for that matter) are all welcome, few discussions center around anything other than TerraTrikes and the customization individuals are contemplating, or have completed.
Recently, I purchased a Catrike 559, and I'm searching preferably for a Catrike Forum, or at least a trike forum. There seems to be huge differences between recumbent bikes, and recumbent trikes, and even between tadpole and delta trikes. So, why no seperate trike forum, maybe with two sub-Forums: Delta, and Tadpole? I might be wrong, but I believe that a dedicated forum would receive more traffic than a Forum someone has to wade through a ton of posts that don't really help them.
So, here is a poll: Would you rather:
1) Keep things as they currently are, or
2) Split this sub-Forum into 2 or three sub-Forums

We don't get so much traffic here that it needs to be sub-divided. This is one of the few sites I know of that has enough traffic to keep the bent forum around; but I'm afraid that sub-dividing it would kill it. If you want a trike-specific forum, go visit bentrideronline. They have a trike forum in their 'specialty discussions.'

Bizarre first post in 'bents. Diversity probably increases the chances of learning something new.

BTW, there is a Catrike forum https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/catrike/. It formerly was on Yuku but migrated recently to tapatalk and now they send me frequent updates that Yuku never sent. Many are about individuals selling trikes or parts of which I have no interest so it is mildly annoying but you can find information on maintenance and other Catrike specific answers there.
Bentrider does have a separate category for trikes and there are many more people who post about recumbents there. Bikeforums/Recumbent is a much less frequently used subforum in a world of DF bikes.

The correct word for "other recumbents" is "bikes".
A single forum for recumbents works for bikeforums.
True that there is a separate subforum on BROL for Trikes, but the posts in the general Recumbent section include both bike- and trike-realated content. Much more trike content there now than several years ago.

The really funny part is that the mods were just asking us the same question a few weeks ago. Of course, their inquiries don't show up in a search.

And as a new trike (upright) owner to be (waiting till spring) I was told to come here by others on the board to find trike info, but really find more under the utility forum though I am not getting it for that reason and mostly just read bike stuff

If you are considering a conventional bicycle design but with 2 rear wheels, I'm thinking utility bikes might be a better place to look.

You have a point. I think you might be in the wrong forum. The trikes we are talking about are recumbents where you sit down low with your feet out in front.

I voted keep it like it is. As a new recumbent owner,I have been coming on here checking out what people say about their recumbent trikes or bikes. There isn`t that much traffic so a person can go through the threads pretty quickly. Hopefully as more people find about them they will want to check them out. I think once they ride one they will want one, especially the older folks. I know I am enjoying the heck out of mine!

I don't ride recumbents, but there are similar issues on some of the other subforums.
One thing to keep in mind, especially with a fairly narrowly defined forum is that people tent to follow only certain forums. If you divide the forums too finely, you also split the forum, and half the potential audience won't see any given post.
The end result is that people end up feeling they have to start duplicate threads, and in the end, nobody's ahead.
Add that the audience, as measured by the number watching at any given time, and it's apparent that it's already split about as finely as possible.
