What derailleur and link to (not) Campy hoods
Yes, I’ve checked Velo base.
my eyes are getting buggy trying to determine C-record, Centaur, Chorus, Veloce, Vienti or Luigi.
maybe some one knows right off the bat.
also, a friend sent me a link to this Chinese site selling reproduction hoods.
Hoods, chains, tires are all things that wear out and I don’t think it’s fair to expect Vintage Bikes to only use vintage parts that wear out.
I’ve ordered one of every color, I’ll give you an update after I receive them

Another one of Campy's attempts to embrace the new technology while still accommodating the past, part of the Syncro family. There's two hex keys either end of the derailleur body that allow you to rotate the body to select A or B position; 'normal' parallelogram or slant parallelogram which our friends in Japan were moving forward with.

It seems that we all have different experiences with the Campy downtube shifter indexing. I guess that's why it's not very popular.
I'm running this derailleur 8 speed in the "B" position and it indexes fairly well. By "fairly well" I mean that the shifting may get sloppy and I have to fine-tune the little cable-pull knob atop the shifter once or twice in a fifty mile ride.

I’ve got this derailleur shifting a fairly wide Suntour 7-sp freewheel and have been pleasantly surprised, what with all of the doomsayers.
Perhaps my expectations were just very low going in.

*Edit* The first Gen Chorus was for Campagnolo the first real new rear derailleur since they first made on in the early 1950s. Before the CHorus all derailleurs were basically the same demensions some just prettier and some with a "Leisure" cage, the later Ralley may have differed slightly I'm not sure they were true slant parallelograms like the Chorus. The adjustable body on the CHorus was very ingenious allowing the jockey to stay equidistant from the cog whether a close 13/13-19/21 FW was emplyed or a more leisurely 13-26 was used. The Croce de Anue' was something else entirely.
I never tried the last 8spd index DT shifter Campanutella made in the '90s but the biggest two problems with Synchro was
1) it was designed to work with all existing CampI RDs, and anyones FW and chain. 2) it was designed to work with all Campagnolo RDs and everyones FW and chain. If you actually had the knowledge and the charts and were patient with the persnickety nature of the lashed up system it would be passible. However if you were already used to Suntours crispish Accushift or the shipmano SIS then you were doomed to hate it.
