Opinions on these used road bikes
So I’ve been looking for good deals on used road bikes in my area, and I was hoping you all could give your thoughts on these:

the trek emonda is obviously a higher spec bike than the diamondback century.
Its also listed for $1000 more.
Both have quality shifting components.
If you want to spend under $1000, the choice is obvious. If you want to spend up to $2000, get the emonda.

Is the Trek listed at a reasonable price?
I’m not opposed to spending that much; I have a feeling if I get a lower spec bike I will regret it and want to upgrade in 6 months. Just want to make sure it’s a decent deal before pulling the trigger.

Here are my concerns about the price of the Trek Emonda:
-this “blue book” site has it at $1558-1603:
https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/valu...roduct/3075330
-this one sold in late March for $1500CAD which is about $1200:
https://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/2263634/
Is there a better/equivalent carbon frame bike to be had new, or better used deals out there? Taking into account the ‘rona scarcity, is this a good deal?

The bikes are different sizes. One is 54cm and the other 56cm. The third post has been deleted.
Find what fits you first, then look at price, components, condition, etc. You can get the best deal on any bike, but if it doesn't fit you then you won't ride it, or will be miserable riding it.
If you're willing to drop $1,700 on a bike, go to a bike shop and find out what fits you first. You can get a heck of a bike for $1,700, and get help and support from your LBS when you need it.

Honestly I would prefer to go to a LBS and get a new bike with support but the shop I went to recently just seemed to rush me out and their inventory was low.

How low is low spec?
A full R7000 groupset is 500 bucks shipped. R8000 is about 700 shipped.
If things are in decent condition you can always sell the groupset and get something new. I think the frame is the important part here. But yeah... I probably wouldn't buy anything with lower spec than 105 5800 these days. Unless it's 6700 ultegra or such for flipping purposes. 5700 groups usually sell for about 250-300 in good condition.
