Trek Boone Crockett other? Disc owners wanted
Per the thread title, I'm looking for owners of Trek disc brake cross and gravel bikes, more specifcally, those with 15mm thru axles forks (but not the Domane as I have that sorted already). I'm gathering info in an effort to make a 12mm thru axle conversion kit for these forks which have M14x1.5mm threads as a permanent part of the fork leg (as opposed to part of an insert, like the Domane). See here for some background on what I've been up to: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/f...9055&start=135
These kits allow you to run 12mm wheels in a 15mm fork, something that previously wasn't possible (not to be confused with using 15mm wheels in a 12mm fork which is a far simpler problem and addressed several times over).
In addition to the fork, you'll also need digital calipers to take various measurements for me, and probably a good dose of patience as I ask lots of questions. Bonus points if you are local to DE, 19803 and willing to meet up. Obviously some comp'd product is up for grabs for anyone who can help me out.
Thanks in advance!

For anyone curious, here is the solution that will be ready in about a month:
The kit uses a special thread adapter and locking nut to secure it to the fork leg due to the M14x1.5 threads. Everything else is similar to my other kits, additional details of which can be seen here:

Can this work on any 15mm TA fork? Why not just make the axpe 15mm at the head instead of having a separate insert in teh fork? That would cut down on the number of parts to machine... I'd love to put this on a Lauff fork.
I may be a customer!

2. I considered that very early on but my original plan when I finally decided to start making kits did not include making axles. That didn't work out for several reasons and it's been for the better that I now make axles in specific lengths to fit forks converted with these kits. Most of the kits add some width to the fork and making custom axles allows me to offer one that fits perfectly even when the same length as the original 15mm axle is available. But many of the conversion kits that I've started producing are uncharted territory for 12mm axles. Trek forks, and a few others, use a 140mm long axle (stock is 138mm). The Lauf kit uses a 152mm axle. Try finding those sizes anywhere in 12mm.
Now, as to why I didn't make axles with the reducing sleeve as part of the axle, a. it allows my inventory to be more flexible. Some axle lengths get paired with 5 different sleeve lengths and I haven't been at this long enough to know exactly what will be ordered and the thru hole inserts are cheaper to stock than axles. And b. making that sleeve a separate part allows for a normal axle to be used in a pinch if the special axle were to be lost or damaged.
Happy to answer any other questions or provide more detail. A lot of this is easier to explain with the forks and kits sitting in front of us. I go into some detail in my other YouTube videos about these kits so they might be worth a view if you are curious.

Will the link you sent work on the original Lauf fork and the 3T Luteus fork used on the OPEN Classic frame, or would that be a different part?
thanks!
thanks!

So far, I offer 16 different kits. Within the next two weeks I’ll be adding about 5 more, most of which are kits I have been providing but just at very low volume using modified parts from my inventory. There are a couple known gaps that will get addressed soon after that as well but for the most part, if you’ve heard of it, I have a kit for it.
Dealer inquiries are always welcome!
