I have a long torso so the 2 piece singlets just don't fit me well. I have a one piece traithlon suit and love it, no wardrobe malfunctions during the race. There is only 1 tri-bib that I am aware of, made by DeSoto I think

well for cycling, first, they are very comfortable. much more so than cycling shorts or tri shorts. and second for a cyclist who gets out of the saddle a lot/shifts around, it keeps the chamois where it should be and not getting caught on the seat.

On a short ride: doesn't matter at all.
In a road race, crit, serious TT, or long ride: makes a world of difference.

I recently tried bibs and I wasn't that impressed. I found the lack of a waistband to be a bit weird, and after about 30 minutes the straps started to dig into my shoulders. They do keep the chamois in place, which was nice. My regular shorts tend to stretch a bit when they get sweaty and the chamois can shift around if I'm in and out of the saddle a lot.
For triathlon I think bibs would be a hassle. They would interfere with swimming, and I don't think they would be too comfortable to run in.
