Here's my baby, a 1969 Magneet. I've been touring it for fifteen years now:

It's had one change since this picture was taken (11 years ago). This past spring I finally replaced the Weinmann center pulls for Mavic Racers (much better braking under load) with the Mavic levers and safety levers - the only "safety levers" I'll write without quotes. They're actually about 80% effective as the main levers. And they're the only safety levers I'll consider using.

Careful. Bay area residents sometimes get offended when someone calls it Central (rather than Northern] CA.

If that was my barn it would be filled bikes.

We only do that to scare off the Portlanders.

Yeah, I also raced on this one. The PX10 also did a good job touring as long as the load was not too heavy. I built a set of clincher wheels for training and they made a pretty good touring wheel.

Here’s my most recent project: 1984 Trek 520 w/ NOS Deore XT components paired with original Suntour and Rivendell Bosco Bullmoose bars. 57cm with original wheels. I bought this bike from the original owner. It had less than 200mi when I bought it.

Edit: Bullmoose lowered slightly since pic. They’re very flexy these Bullmoose
