Can anyone shed more light as to this frame?

Hi everyone,
Thank you for reading this post. I came across this NOS ALAN from the 90s on eBay and paid a reasonable price for it. It had never been built up as a bike and only had the Campy headset and BB installed. Both looked to be Records. It is an R30 Alu LS.

I e-mailed ALAN and they confirmed 90s manufacture and said it was the top of the line frame.
I am a little unsure if the R30 ALU LS was the top of the line as most of the information seems to indicate the Super prefixed models to be up top. The closest thing I found was an image of an old catalog with the R303 Alu LS and it looked to be an entry level frame.

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am not sure how many models they made but if Alan says it was top o the line then it must be.

nice shifters

That's the one I sold. It's a nice frame; build and ride it! Only thing I didn't like about it, is the set of stickers they used then. I was planning on removing 'em all, except for the head sticker. Too many bikes though, so it went to eBay. BTW- I believe the Super may have been tops in earlier years. Yours is a fairly late ALAN.

They are. They are carefully rolled up in some tissue right now.
As for being top of the line, still not too sure about that
All the catalog scans look to have the Carbon and Supers as top of the line. I'm just curious.

Ps: I stand in awe of your collection.

I did as much research as I could when I owned my ALAN Super Record, and it was one of the nicer bikes I have been lucky enough to own. That said, I agree with another member's comment about the company qualifying the model and pedigree of the frame set.

Here is a picture of my ALAN, leaning against a rock wall that I built at my summer cottage, a few years ago...

Cool! Nice to meet you! It is beautiful. Just as you described. The frame tag is in a plastic sleeve for safekeeping.
I'm glad you did not remove any of the decals. I put clear mylar over them as a protective layer.

I hope it's not blasphemy; I put 2011 Campy Chorus 11 and Campy Neutrons on.
Found an unusual gray anodized Flite 27.2 seatpost that looks good with it.

I'll go with the general consensus as to the position of the frameset in their lineup

I added a few more pics of it built up the the link.

Very nice! Your frame and it's configuration are the norm in most of the research I have done.
Very little info on non-Super or Record or Carbonios.
