Hey folks,

I hope you'll forgive the self-serving plug, since I have this bike listed in the "for sale section"...... but it is a nice picture of a 1989 Centurion Prestige to add to the thread for posterity. The Ironman's slightly fancy cousin, maybe?

Well that's RTs size and Oh so very Nice.
Prestige tubing on the the prestige is reportedly lighter than the Tange 1 on the on the Ironman. Just curious by how much?

Nice looking Prestige , @no67el . Looks like it just rolled off the show room floor save for the saddle and post . Which I think looks really good .
PS I can't find it in the Marketplace . link ?

The black expert with out the Avenir decal SN is N8M6072
The blue smoke on the water expert is N9E5786
The purple fade 88 doesn't have it its # is N8B0017

If everybody's favorites are a 56, maybe I'M riding the wrong size? I Can't decide between the '86 62cm or the '57 60cm or the '89 58cm. Maybe I'll get a Turbo or Elite or Prestige and forget about the Ironman thing.

that seems to match up with the thought that Avenir decals were added sometime in early 1989 mfg frames, which is why the black expert doesnt have it, its a late 1988 mfg frame.

Iron Maiden Centurion Update

My granddaughter & I spent Friday evening putting her bike together. Kudos to my wife who let us do it in the kitchen since its cold and our garage is unheated. We got it together and put it on my trainer. Everything works well and fit seems close. Its 7 speed now but has the triple crank that Saypat sent. We put the wheels off my 89 on it for now until we figure out how how we are going to configure it with the wheels we got from SeedsBeleize. I suspect it will end up with Dura-Ace down tube shifters but she also has the option of brifters. We don't have bar tape on it yet. She ordered some but she is keeping it secret what color it is. Knowing that girl it may be chartreuse or something wild. What ever it is we will go with it, after all its her bike. Pictures when we get to take it outside.

Rides nice! I started the overhaul (ft wheel perfect, rear slight pits on NDS). Setting up stand to do BB & headset and a good cleaning in the basement. Too cold for a long ride. 58-60 my normal size but will see how 56 works with a longer seatpost.
Not that I am "hooked" but I have read this thread thru to page 60 so far to learn more.
This is not a cult, right?
Must read more now.
