As previously stated in post #12 the 1989-1990 Karakoram K2 and 1991 Karakoram Elite were basically the same level as the previous Karakoram model, with the 1989-1991 Karakorams being downgraded.

Way prettier than my old Timberline! When you wrote:

"there sat a VERY clean for it's age GT Karakoram K2 with Suntour XC 9000 group. black U brakes up top in back, and black canti's in front Brakes are both Dia Compe. Battleship grey paint with blue pearl clear, and blue splattered graphics"

You didn't mention the little voice saying "Danger, Danger"

This is what I get for skimming the text and focusing on the pictures Thanks for IDing my Karakoram before it was posted. Are you a wizard T-Mar?

That's pretty!

Too much electronical stuff going on there!

I "need" the 9 piece neck-thru- minis and dots.

I also *need* to find an EB-2. I sold mine 20 years ago... never missed it, even a little bit. And then I did.

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I was curious if anyone has ever found a K2 (1990 based on the info listed above) that had the Purple Haze paint job? I had one (my first bike purchase ever at 13 yrs old) and was my only ride around town until I got my license and even then I still rode if the weather was nice. Spent a lot of money doing upgrades over the years but eventually lost it in a storage unit fire. I have never seen another K2 with Purple Haze since then and cant even find one on the interwebs. I eventually bought a newer Karakoram that I turned into a longtail cargo bike but there are days that I wish I could have found my unicorn.

There's an ongoing 3t GT thread - https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...me-thread.html - would be a good place to post this ^^^^^ bike.

Nice C&V kitchen / C&V dishwasher .
