ID a barn find - Flying Star
Can anyone assist me in identifying an old bike?
It has a Flying Star headbadge, so Im thinking Schwinn...BUT, it has a crank sprocket with 16 teardrop shaped holes around the ring, unlike vintage Schwinn Flying Star bikes. Maybe someone replaced the original.
The markings under the frame below the crank are "664 94" and "6763"
Thanks for anything you can tell me. I hope to fix it up for the kids.

Hello Sirby,
welcome to the forums, your photos are here:

I have seen that chainring pattern on some Shelby bicycles. The fork also looks similar to some Shelby forks.
I am unable to connect Shelby with the Flying Star headbadge.
I cannot connect the serial number and stamping on the BB with a frame manufacturer.
I hope you can the bicycle running satisfactorily. It should be a fun bike to ride.

Thanks for the information and the link to my photos. I'll search Shelby to see what I can find. I'll just dig into it and see if I can't hammer t into shape. The rear fender is really crunched.

That looks like the headbadge that Schwinn used on their earlier version the Flying Star. See https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/19...ng-star.78188/
