Does this make me old? Well, already there. It is just what I like (I also love water - just plain water no flavor or sweetner added thank you!). I seldom drink soda. I allow myself a Coka Cola (not Pepsi - has to be real Coke, in a can) only after a signficant ride.
I just got back from vacation - rode the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (Arizona and Rainbow Rim trails) - HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE! Yes I had a real Cokes last week!!!!

I drink iced tea whenever possible instead of soft drinks. I never got in the habit of diet drinks so sometimes when I eat out I'm stuck with real soft drinks. At home I usually drink icewater. Even though I live in the south I don't drink sweet tea, I just put a little sugar in it and some lemon. I buy the powdered Gatorade and mix up a big glass about half strength for when I get home from a ride.

I love good Ice tea. the stronger the better, sometimes with sugar, sometimes not. I do enjoy some sodas though. I try to only drink the ones with Sugar in them. Most of the time its Dr. Pepper, but Ill have a mexican Coke (it has sugar) on occasion.

I used to drink A LOT of pop and worse yet energy drinks.
Now i have maybe two soft drinks a week and i have entirly cut out energy drinks replaced it with both iced and hot tea. I actually like the tea much better than pop or energy drinks too, But i aint exactly old at 26 lol (But i am part english lol).

I like a good mug of tea in the afternoon, ginger probiotic with just a tiny bit of honey does the trick.

I like tea, herbal, green, black, whatever. I haven't used tea in my bike water bottles before, though it's not a bad idea. Only for rides longer than about 30 miles will I use anything but water, though, and that helps with keeping the water bottles and their valves clean. For rides that are long enough that I worry about taking some calories I've just used Gatorade powder, though perhaps I should consider brewing up some tea instead and just adding some form of sugar to it, though it would lose the electrolytes.
For regular daily fluid intake when I'm bored with just plain water for a few months now I've been drinking a lot of the non-sweetened but flavored sparkling waters. No sugar, no splenda, no artificial sweeteners at all, just some lemon or lime or other flavor, water, and the bubbles. I like them a lot, and generally go through a case or more of these per week. They're zero calories, zero sweeteners, but taste like you're drinking something other than straight water. I do alternate these with a type of herbal tea my wife buys sometimes.

Lots of good old plain black or green iced tea. Straight. Not during exercise but any time or multiple times during the day is better. I'll cut this short, got to go get a glass.

I drink unsweet iced tea. Have for decades. Fresh brewed is best, rarely will I drink instant anymore. I hate the tea that usually comes from the same dispensers as soda. Just doesn't taste right.
I also drink Gatorade Zero, Vitamin Water Zero, Powerade Zero. Protein 2O is another favorite. But I also drink a LOT of water.

I drink hot tea, but not much iced. Although I do enjoy some every now and then. For me personally when I'm riding I can't take anything with much taste at all. Especially when it's hot. I do drink HEED and NUUN but both are the least flavorful I could find.
But if it's working for you then keep it up. One of my former riding partners used to drink a half tea/half lemonade drink and swore by it. I tried it and hated it, but it's all personal preference.
