It was 6 miles, took me almost 30 minutes. Loved it. Felt like I had really accomplished something just getting out there.

It was in a neighbor's driveway. I taught myself to balance, steer, pedal and coast. I was 5 1/2.

My first ride was 4.5 miles around my airport during my lunch hour. I did that for a week, getting legs and body used to riding, as well as getting used to my bike. Now I'm commuting 15 miles RT, when Florida afternoon showers permit. At least I still get a 7.5 ride in the am, and have my wife pick me up in the afternoon if it's raining.

Wobbly. After we started rolling, I had no idea what to do next.
*afterthought*
Funny, when referring to my Stingray, it was always "we"

My first ride was awesome! I didn't have a computer so I had no idea how far and how fast I went...but I did the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs. It was on a big wheel

Umm ... my first ride on a 2-wheeler was 39 years ago and I was about 6 years old. I'm afraid I don't remember.

Red tricycle, Ava Avenue, Somerdale, NJ, ca 1962 or so. It was awesome.
Suppose I'll be riding a trike again some day when I'm ancient....[whistling] "..world go round in circles..."

My father was holding the rear fender of my Columbia after he took the training wheels off over my protests. After about 20 feet, he let go without me knowing it. I turned my head 200 yards later and saw him back there. Basically, everything in the 52 years since then has just been building off that.

I DO remember my first real ride (e.g. not the test ride and the like) on my mountian bike. Or at least the first half mile. Getting boot laces caught in the chain and managing to backpedal was mildly memorable. Looking up and seeing the nice fat rattlesnake crossing the fireroad less than 15 feet in front of me was very memorable.

I hadn't rode a bike since I was around 16 until about 8 months ago. My first ride 8 months ago was awful. I barely rode around the block or two and ended up with a rash. Not fun.
