I always assumed they were semi-pneumatic.

After buying the rim protectors and spoon-levers for the motorcycle tires, and having a massive fight to change the first one, some research for tips caused me to find a much better solution that didn't even require the tools; Do a google search for: motorcycle tire change zip ties

Harbor Freight carries the 18-24" zip ties needed.
A warm tire works best, so I picked up a used motorbike tire warmer from eBay.
