I've read about the hassle of taking wheels out of track ends with fenders. I guess the versatility of track ends is more important to me. I flip from a 17T freewheel to a 19T freewheel most weekends.
I'm trying to get as close to an all purpose bike as possible; those purposes being commuting, weekend excercise & getting around town, while having the simplest bike possible.
Room for 700x40mm semi slicks would be great for the dirt & gravel I encounter some weekends. And of course, room for fenders for rainy commutes.
I wanted calipers on this imaginary bike too, but understand their fit limitations. A Kilo WT with a bit more slack and a bit more tire/fender clearance would cover all my needs/wants.
I think these are 650B wheels, but this Vanilla Custom is what I'm looking for, without having to spend thousands.
I could probably get over the one issue I have with those I've come across, which is an aesthetic one. Sloping top tubes.

My new (old) bmx bike. Sorry for the ****ty photo. It was taken with my Mac webcam which is the only camera I have at the moment. Sold it years ago to a friend for $80. He neglected it and eventually sold it back to me for $30. $200 later......
It's a DK Fury, which was originally intended to be a bmx race frame. It's aluminum and has 3/8 axles, so it is by no means a street machine. I intend to use this bike as a ****ty weather beater that can handle anything I can handle. I would like the chance to trick with it and eventually take it up to Ramp Riders or some trails once it gets nicer.
I realize I built it pretty jacked, but its a bmx bike so I feel like its forgivable. The saddle/seatpost came on my Raleigh first. I bought new wheels, tires, freewheel, chain, and grips. The gearing is pretty tall for a bmx bike but it feels fine to me. I love that it still had the original Odyssey pedals that I upgraded forever ago.
Anybody here feeling the bmx love? This is what originally got me into bikes.

What's up guys, newbie here been lurking the forums for awhile. Used to work at a pawn shop for a few years, saw some nice stuff come in from time to time. This bike came in and the color combo really caught my attention, so I picked it up for 60 bucks. Anybody recognize the frame? Pretty much has race face all over the bike and the bars are about half a mile wide but that's all fixable. Just trying to figure out where this frame came from. Any ideas?

If that was my bike, I wouldn't throw a significant money into building that frame. The seat stays make me want to barf. I'm not trying to hate on your bike, dude, I'm just saying it looks like a run of the mill conversion with some sweet wheels.

Except it's not a conversion. Look at the dropouts.

Holy ****. You are right. I didn't even look at it with close scrutiny.
What kind of frame is that? Some goofy SSCX bike or something? I can't understand why a frame builder would do that with the seat stays.

The plan was to actually ditch the frame altogether and start with something I like a little better. I love the orange/blue paint scheme but I can always paint whatever else I get. I just wasn't sure if this was like some diamond in the rough frame or if it was just junk that I could toss out.

Big Shark had one in when I last came in. Super nice bike dude. I feel like yours is a baby brother of that one lol. The color and frame really reminded me of yours.
I've never seen/heard of that frame, but I don't know everything. There's a chance it might be rare or valuable, but I have no idea. Just basing on its appearance, I'd give it to a homeless guy and then buy a Furley.

Not too sure what I'm going to end up with, I don't want to spend too much on this thing. All I do with it is just ride up and down the street and follow my 5 year old around at the park so for now, ugly frame or not, I think it's a good 60 dollar investment lol.

I have no idea what make it is, but the curved stays are likely just a cosmetic flourish, to set the frame apart from others. It wouldn't be hard to bend the stays like that, and then you just have the marketing department whip up a plausible-sounded rationale for why they make this bike so much better than anything else...
