Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My feeling on bikes like this....you should go with black bar tape and saddle.
the frame/fork/post/stem already have the black/white contrast.

In general, when you have a "loud"/high contrast color scheme on the frame, I think that the components should try to disappear somewhat.

like this:

Nice Colnago! As sporty as white saddle and bar tape look, they are what we always called "future black."

I like the build, but unsure of your use of blue. I think that would look a little better with black all around.

I thought the same thing, but then i thought i shouldn't be recommending that all bikes be all black.

I think this is one case where a blue saddle & blue bar tape might go well.
Bar tape looks a little chunky tho. Might go with a Fizik Microtex.

So close to being hot but the blue ruins it for me.

Sorry, I hate black bar tape. Never use it. Tape is Specialized Roubaix. Personal choice.

i was suggesting blue microtex.
but specalized roubaix tape definitely explains why it looks chunky.

we're just nitpicking. it's that the bike looks very sharp everywhere else, but then it's like oven mitts up front

i think you've done well though.

You have cured my curiosity about going to blue bar tape! A somewhat "interesting" mix of black with red and blue accents. but overall not that hot IMO.

Super hot Colnago! I generally abhor white spokes, but overall this holds together very nicely.

thanks.

does anyone know if all 3 version of the ergonova have different shapes? i have the pro but for some reason it doesnt look as sharp and compact compare to jgrosser's team. maybe its the thicker bartape that makes it look smaller.

It's hard to say not hot to a bike, that has high end components. It's warm at the moment. Get rid of the setback and get a longer stem maybe a 90 or a 100. And get black Specialized S-Wraps or Fiziks.
