That 29er is very nice indeed! On the Giant ... yep, I'm leaning more/more toward getting one. The supplied racks are neither here nor there for me, though nice to have in reserve, but the bike as a whole is already nice 'n light stock and really does look suited to most of the riding I do/like to do -- especially given the flexibility for tire choice it offers.

Looking good, and good to see your comments JES600.
Please don't take offence, but may I ask if that saddle height represents your usual riding position? If so, it seems very low considering the size of the bike; are you getting full leg extension at the bottom of your pedal stroke? If not, just ignore me!

Prior to getting this bike a few weeks ago, I hadn't ridden a bicycle since the summer of 1995, so I am/was out of practice. I do have a short inseam relative to my torso. But after riding a few times I've "settled in" and come to the conclusion that I'm not getting enough leg extension so I will be raising the seat.

If so, how long did you have to wait for it?
My friend's custom Trek (Project One) took three months to finish from measurement, design to delivery.

Don't remember if I posted this bike before but here it is.. very comfy. Picked up a theft recovery frame for a few bucks, then added a bunch of random stuff.

I plan to customize it.. Different paint color, different handlebars, and maybe a new seat.. Time will tell, and money haha..
Oh, and it is a Gary Fisher Zebrano.. Says steel frame so I guess 1996? LBS said it's a true Gary Fisher, before the whole Gary Fisher/Trek merger thing

Love the color!
There are some scratches that I want to get rid of though.. hmm
Yeah I like it! Only got it for 175 too! Gonna buy some flat handlebars, put bar ends on em' to make it look like bullhorns(hand positions!)
I have no clue if I can change the fork, but I can it'll be on my list
New seat, new peddles, I might change all the stock parts for higher end customs.

Slightly lower gearing than my road bike with 50/34 and 11-28. Got some hills around your parts? I do and I use my full range of gearing from the 34-28 gear (which is even hard in a couple of places) and the 50-11 gear going down those same hills.

First post. Did a very little bit of research on here then quickly hit up Craigslist for my first"real"bike. I did well I think.
Cannondale, h300 from around 2000.
Got a topeak rack for the rear, lights, Shimano spd pedals just put on and getting a replacement wheel currently as I had a small accident with the spokes and lock bar...
Made a bag for my wallet, phone, knife ect

I use the full range, all my gears are useful. I might go a bit lower up front though. I am not powerful and spin down hills also
