Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's what was on my circa '87 Specialized which was my first "real" bike I bought used around 2003 or 4. That stuff was bombproof. I used it continually until I finally sold the bike maybe 10 years later.

Not these days, but back then it was what you had. Before my Bianchi I had a Trek 660 with Campy Nuovo and then a crappy Schwinn 754 with SunTour GPX. Got hit by a car and bent the Bianchi frame. I couple of weeks later I was on my Guerciotti with Ultegra STI. Rode it around the block a few times to get the knack of shifting. The next day I did a two-day, hilly, 170 mile charity ride on it.

I am afraid the other forum I frequent, for Saturn owners, may have jumped the shark. The site has been full of spam postings the past couple of weeks, and now the site is down completely.

Hey I haven't been around for a minute but I'd just like to point out that for the first time since I was born, my football team is going to the Superbowl.

That is all.

I assume you’re talking about the first indexed 600s. I used those on my cycle cross bike when they came out in the 80s. Worked amazingly well for new tech.

My legs are stiff and achy and I’m schlepping around and moaning like a nursing home occupant, but my FTP is up > 7% from the end of November. Back to the gym tomorrow.
