Me would want the one that got away. Richard Moon aka Moon Cycle in Folsom CA Frame & Fork. No longer building but they were functional art. Full Record 8 Speed Group, Mavic Open 4 CD Rims, and Conti Tires.

All day, I don't aim too high, this is just a very high end bike that I would ride the wheels off of even though it has disk brakes and I'm a "Luddite" for believing they don't belong on road bikes. I've had hydraulic disks on MTB for many many years but I have also never had a problem stopping a road bike with good calipers, even on full carbon rims. Three years from now, I may break down and buy this bike though or it's successor whatever that will be because the tarmac has always appealed to me.

I would imagine I would go the full costume route. Being from Wisconsin, I would take a trip down to Waterford and get measured for a custom frame, then build around that.

For me...there is no "dream bike". I cannot picture any bike on the planet that will make me any better than what I currently ride...which is my Cervelo S2.
For the sake of the thread...it would be a toss up between these two.

Honestly, my 5 series Domane with DA9000 is so stinking nice, it's hard to imagine anything better.
I've kind of kicked around the idea of building "race replica" machines. They would seem kind of stupid now, but would be very interesting pieces of history later on. Something like dumping money into building a replica of Wiggin's Pinarello from his TdF win or Cancellara's last Roubaix winning bike. That sort of thing.
EDIT: not to ever mislead anyone as if it was the actual bike, but to have fun bits of history to ride around on when people look at me funny for having mechanical shifting over electric.

In my case it would be Rui Costa's Reacto. I won't be able to ride it as is...but it sure would look cool in my living room.

I got a Waterford 23 years ago. It was my dream bike at the time and was built with Ultegra. Over time every thing but the frame was replaced. I even went with an Ouzo Pro CF fork but had Waterford paint it. Despite 14 years age difference, the paint matched the original frame paint perfectly. The bike weighs 18.2 lbs complete with pedals, cages and computer.
