De Rosa update.
No luck selling the De Rosa so I’ve been riding it. I normally like to ride frames with a seattube of 56-57cm and toptube of 55-56cm. But at 5’9” on paper I should ride a 54cm. I’m starting to get use to it, the saddle to bar drop is a little more than I like, but my body is adapting to it. It’s a very quick, fast bike but super solid. I think I’ve done everything to it that I wanted so that’s done for now, so nothing left to do but ride it.

Banned.
At 5’9”, you must have odd proportions to ride 56-57 bikes. I’m a smidge over 5’10”, and can’t ride anything over a 55. It looks like you have a long inseam from the seat post height. I’m sure you can make that work. I thought you were taller.

Nope 30” inseam, I like a tall seatpost with very minimal bend on my knees. Somehow that’s comfortable for me.

Better to have it rolling than for it to just sit there.
What kind of shoes are you wearing while riding? A thicker sole could account for some of the post you are using.
Either way it deserves to be ridden.

What is your inseam length? I was 5' 10" when younger, now about 5' 9", 32" inseam and ridden a 58cm CTT seat tube all my life and mostly with a level ankle and foot riding style. Will be trying a 56 cm down to a 54 cm to see if I can handle it and a more upright style of riding after having suffered a back strain in February.

I ride SPDL shoes and my foot is level in the downstroke. Just not much bend in my knee.

Interesting - 32" inseam here, and I won't touch anything less than a 57cm, and usually go further towards 58-60cm for the Eddy or French fit. If it works for you, that's all that counts though!
That said, are you riding primarily in the hoods or the drops? If the drops, and if those are Cinelli Campione Del Mondo bars, you might be able to get yourself another inch up in the front by using Giro d'Italias. Perhaps you've used them before; I've found that the amount of drop between the two bars is less important than the way one's hands fit onto the curve.
