Bicycle Photos
Panniers from a single sheet of Coroplast
Coroplast Panniers
Sheet of Coroplast , 5'3\" x 2'11" Marked up with FOLD , or CUT markings
I got an email telling me Google Plus is shutting down, so I went and Snoped it, but it is in fact TRUE !
We only have until April 2nd to download any photos that may be stored on Google +.
some of these photos are rare , on account I built the bike, or the Fairing , myself and it never went into production .

Green=Panniers Blue=Battery Box Red= Cargo Platform
Fiberglass Platform affixed to the Head Tube
Epoxy Mixing
Foam Core Block of Fibrrglass affixed to Head Tube
Cargo Platform extended with a Plastic Cutting Board
Wrapping the Block of Fiberglass with more Fiberglass , 7 layers, to a thickness of 3/16ths\"
Okay, that bike ( type eleven ) has a front platform a la Cycle Truck. I should have shown the front of the bike first. These photographs illustrate the very fine line of distinction between a Heavy Tourong Bike and a Light Cargo Bike. I endeavor to document this unique work to preserve history ( so that others will Not have to repeat it...)

Interesting, but soft panniers are preferable because they can bulge to fit wider items. IMO. If these meet your needs, or even if you did them just because .... well, good for you. Ingenuity is its own reward, and as a bonus, you get hand-crafted panniers.

these prototypes, number nine and number ten , have the same fiberglass boom to attach the cargo platform or fairing to the head tube. This is the no-weld method. You might want to try this if you want a cycle truck but lack the $6,000 to buy a TIG welder.
at this point in time , this builder is reworking his previous designs , type two and type three, which he came up with himself before Mellisa designed the type nine.
Like I mentioned, these are the photographs which were archived over at Google Plus. I don't want anyone to suffer the misfortune of not having these photographs when attempting a Fiberglass Cargo Platform or a set of Coroplast Panniers, lest they should skip an important step...

That's fine if you prefer soft panniers . But hard panniers are better suited for LED Lighting installations, market lights, or turn signals. Hard cargo crates are seen on Cargo Bikes. With the increased popularity of Electric Bikes, it might become possible to install marker lights and turn signals .

How would you install a Slow Moving Vehicle Sign on soft panniers?

Wow is right. You must be retired. Wow.
I've thought of making "bike baskets" with Balsa Wood. Glue the balsa together cross grain and it becomes extremely strong. It's light to. I'd custom the size to fit a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk. Attach to the rear rack. I'll get to it some day. Some rainy day....

Soft Panniers have frames. Mounting stuff is easy ... and for this guy, would be even easier.
Does the front shelff hold a milk crate or something?
Alos ... I have hung a big bag (soft with a rigid frame) off the bars and supported it on a shelf built off the brake mount bolt ... but in future I'd also consider struts off the front axle fender mounts.

Creasing Coroplast before bending will help the fold go where you want it , otherwise it follows the grain.

Model 219 Fairing with integral Panniers
I believe that if anyone wants to build a Fairing , their chances will be greatly improved if they have some photos to give them an idea how it is done.
Most bikes with fairings are Recumbents.

My Daughters design pushed state of the art in the 1990's
Type 9 • 1991 Kenworth Fairing
Follow-on design. Will take 550 hours to build. Afraid it will get stolen in a New York minute...
