Nashbar 1 Inch threadless fork
Does anyone know if a traditional 1 inch headset will work with this fork?
It seems like the step near the base is 1 and 1/16th.
I emailed them and haven't heard back.

if by "traditional" you mean threaded, then NO. A threadless fork needs a (1 inch in this case) threadless HS and you might need either a 26.4mm crown race (more typical) or a 27.0 crownrace (JIS standard for some Japanese and SOME Taiwanese forks). Measure that base with a digital caliper than reads decimal mm.

The 1" threadless fork needs a threadless 1" headset and a 1" threadless stem - or shims on a 1 1/8 stem.
I assume crown race will be 26.4 mm.
Nashbar has a 1" threaded carbon fork that will use a 1" threaded headset and a 22.2 quill stem.
Both forks have a straight steerer.

I actually have a Nashbar 1" threadless carbon fork in the parts bin. Are you trying to figure out the crown race size? I can measure. But all steerers are "stepped" at the crown race, in this case from 25.4mm along the length to 26.4 or 27.0 at the crown.

I guess I didn't use the right term.

well you MIGHT assume that all Nashbar Carbon forks will use the same size crownrace and since you found ONE example that has 27.0, then they all must be 27.0...you might assume that and I sure have done so in the past so learn from my mistake and DON'T.
Nashbar got stuff made by many suppliers over many years and there's no guarantee of consistency: measure YOUR steerer and then you'll know which one fits.

I'm having a hard time finding headsets that are 1" and list the crown race size.
Assuming the two are the same (maybe they aren't) I still don't see many headsets to choose from.

I'm who you messaged but I couldn't reply because I don't have enough posts (what a stupid rule!).
I have a 1" Chris King threadless headset and it says the crown race is 26.5mm.

clearly that approach has merits but you still are making a 50-50 gamble (my figures) that somebody's Nashbar fork has the same crownrace size as yours (do you feel lucky? maybe you are, worst case is you waste time and have to return one HS for another).
I bought a digital caliper for $19 at HFT (not proud about shopping there) years ago and have used it so many times I couldn't count...the same caliper can sometimes be found on sale there for as low as $12.99. It's no Mitutoyo but has proven value to me.
But then some of us are tool users and/or tool hoards, YRMV.
