Pizza and Nachos addiction
Slowly recovering from foot surgery and I developed a pizza and nachos addiction Too easy to get Little Cesears and reheat it for several meals I know there is better pizza buts that is all we have. No problem usually because I’m burning calories on the bike so Monday back to salads and chicken breasts. I guess I am stir crazy At 50 I don’t get away with being a garbage disposal as I use to. Tell me about you’re eating styles so I can incorporate some better eating habits because mine are atrocious.

I get the small packages of frozen veggies, different combinations, some with a light creamy sauce. Some are "protein blends", others are "superfood blends". Green Giant or Birds Eye, microwave for 5 minutes (plus or minus), tear open and dump into a bowl. Probably a little more healthy than pizza. Hey, you can get a bag of baby carrots and a bag of apples for snacks. It's a start.

If pizza is in your DNA can it be an addiction?

" ... better pizza, but that is all we have" - You know what they say about pizza and sex.
" ... Monday back to salads and chicken breasts." - That sounds familiar.
I think this is something we all struggle with. FWIW, what I do is:
1. Avoid food that tastes too good unless it is low calorie or otherwise healthy. We don't keep potato chips, ice cream, or any of that stuff around the house. I eat plain oatmeal before riding home. No one ever got fat eating broccoli and oatmeal, and you won't go hungry either.
2. Avoid snacking, or at least snack on healthy stuff. I snack on fruit and vegetables.
3. Get in the habit of eating slower or stopping eating before you are "full." It takes the brain about 15 minutes to register the food you've eaten. When you go out to eat, do not eat the entire meal ... make a habit of bringing some of it home.
4. Share. I have a bad habit of eating badly when I ride. Part of it is because mountain cafes and the like are not famous for providing healthy food. What I do is share it with whoever I'm riding with. That way I get to taste the hamburger, but with 1/2 the calories.

I love Neapolitan Pizza. The crust is so thin and delicate on the inside and crunchy on the outside. And yea ... a single serving is an entire 12" pizza.

I have been on a whole fish kick lately, especially on the grill. Pompano is especially great to grill since it's mildly fatty.

You can make your own pizza crust with cauliflower, it's easy to make, tastes just as good and doesn't have all the carbs. Youtube has tons of videos on it. I also used to make my own pizza with pita bread as crust.

I thought pizza and Doritos were staples of healthy living. At 76 I still enjoy them and they keep me going for my 200 mi weeks. I just think you need veggies, protein and healthy carbs to supplement.
